People are hooked on cell phones, social media and the Internet are showing symptoms similar to drug and alcohol addictions, according to a new study.

Researchers at the University of Maryland who asked 200 people to give up all media for one full day found that after 24 hours many showed signs of withdrawal, craving and anxiety along with an inability to function well without their media and social links.

I will support enthusiasm because passion, devotion or eagerness of an occupation, activity, or pursuit in which such interest is shown is not called addiction.

it's an addiction as members use it for competition in increasing scraps, when there is no need they are always in the cafe using specially social network.

people only will addicted to the sites which provides entertainment they will not sit hours to just share the information which is professionally useful so i think the people who are enthusiastic will only participate in this

Yes! I am fully agree with Vinay sir passion is not addiction its enthusiasm. Devotion to the work, activity or even to your some one whom u like most is always appreciable. So to be involved is not addiction, its enthusiasm . Ok I know hyper is avoidable. but cant say its addiction :)
