Chinese military scholars are calling for stronger measures to protect the country from a US-led "Internet war."  The county looks very badly into an internal prison doesn't it? The call, which appeared on Friday in the Communist Party-controlled China Youth Daily newspaper, follows allegations from Google that personal Gmail accounts of several hundred people, including senior US government officials, were compromised by computer hackers in China.

The scholars from the Academy of Military Sciences did not mention Google's claims, but said recent computer attacks and incidents employing the Internet to promote regime change in Arab nations appeared to trace back to Washington. They said China needs to erect an "Internet border" and defend its "Internet sovereignty."

Should we not discuss the matter its their country and their wish , its about human race and thus about the world.. What is your take??

Let me give an anology. Parents curbing children. For an outsider, parent beating his child may seem cruel, but the parent knows what is good for child and does exactly that. the child will eventually learn to be more disciplined etc.

Actually Sarika what is not easy to handle by the government a stringent rule is made by the Chinese Government to stay in control of the country in general.

A time will come when democracy will rule China and those days are not very far away hence the government is unstable and taking all the wrong steps.

In terms of Human Rights the word, in Chinese government's dictionary does not exists.

Sorry Ms Sarika,

Recent occurrence in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen etc, may make China to consider its control over Internet. Internal problems are every now & then, surfacing over the world due to free expression of views. For democratic country, wiki-leaks type of web-site, considerably, keep the opposition parties to make noise over, even on unwarranted issues. It is needless to say on Communist country where things are controlled & rationed down the line. May be that, China expecting dissidents from people in the near-future as it has already happened in most of the country including India where Corruption is taken-up. So, there are chances for China to be cautious on controlling internet where the peoples' freedom of expression can be curtailed. It may help a populous country to be ruled over smoothly.
