Recently auto maker Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced it will be soon launch its sports utility vehicle Fortuner, priced at Rs 18.45 lakh, The new SUV comes with a 3.0 litre D-4D diesel engine with five speed manuel transmission. Globally, Fortuner has already sold over 2.5 lakh units in more than 60 countries. What do you  think guys with SUV market being very less in India compared to other parts of the world. The other SUV's in this space is the TATA Safari, Ford Endeavour, Honda CRV and others.

I think yes India is a very good option for SUV kind of a car which can take on Indian roads very easily, I think India is not so vehicle friendly when it comes to transportation, as most of the Indian roads are in bad condition and it takes a heavy toll on vehicle and especially cars as it needs time and again servicing, so SUV is a good option for one, but with a price tag so high on these vehicles it is difficult for one to go for. It will be great to watch out on this segement of cars which are very popular in the west like how it will turn out in India as a market.

It will more correct to say that INDIA is a good market for UV's. THe UV can be sub-divided into SUV ( for urban lifestyle class ) & MUV ( for the rural ). SUV sales are slated to rise due to bettering of road infrastructure & incresing mobility of hte urban populace. THe rural market has been buying MUV in large numbers as the roads are poor & they are ruf & tuf needing very low maintenence.

I also think so. India definitely seems to be a good market for Sport Utility Vehicles. More and more people are emphasizing on SUV . Now Chevrolet have lunched Captiva in india market.

I also think so. India definitely seems to be a good market for Sport Utility Vehicles. More and more people are emphasizing on SUV . The Tata Safari was launched a decade ago to the Indian market. Cars like Tata Safari with its slightly puffed yet elegant body and comfortable interiors became the darling of the young middle class urban elite.
