Only statistically assessing the success of a program is wrong. TV has to have a social responsibility. Just for TRP, TV channels are doing more harm to the society. Corporate honchos are also only following the TRPs to save their backs... and not taking any decisions on their own. The business of the TRPs have ushered in sex, scandal, sensationalism and superstition - all loved by the less educated. And in India, the less educated give the numbers. How many boxes are there in SEC A sector ? Does anyone care to find out?

Good one Mr.Kaushik.And regarding the question i would say why not, if people are liking the shows then only the popularity of the show is determined because of which TRP of a particular soap increases.

It should be the people who are running the show know their show better then some other middleman ruling it.

There are different mediums used to increase the hype among the people and that had also lead to incresed TRP. These TRP were not for the popularity but to see a melo drama of a single episode.

If the channel wants to increase its rating it can create it but if someone other from the industry is monitoring it then can be stopped.
