India reacted strongly to the US increase in work visa costs and the Ohio governor's statements against offshoring. But as emotions give way to cold calculations and analyses. People are having a notion that US can't curb offshoring, they have to if they have to remain on the top of the ladder.

Do you agree with this statement like, US cant curb offshoring....You never know what uncle sam could comeup with to protect their interest in the first place...

Yes they can't curb offshoring business, its a too big deal for them and their economy will be effected badly if they stop offshoring their work, and there's no reason for India to be paranoid. Also there are two reason's why India needs to  stop worrying a lot about this.

1. The economics of outsourcing is too compelling for American companies. And the US government can do little to stem it.

2. Indian companies should increase their employee strength in the US with more locals, a strategy that some companies have already said they would adopt. This will help to calm American nerves, and also eventually make Indian companies a more global force with a better understanding of the US market.

Absolutely... Most of the outsourcing is given to India... US has already established an exchange bond with India. India provides resources and US pays for the services. US IT industry would not jeopardize this. Besides that... India has a large talent pool.... US has a very limited one...

Esha, It is just a demand supply game. Nos. don't matter much. It would be real tough for sensex to sustain such levels. Let's hope for the best. In my opinion it would be a range bound trading. anyways I wish that we see 21K clicking soon.

The ban on outsourcing can only be partial (mainly like governmental organizations etc.) and temporary.

Organizations that survive on the basis of economic excellence acn't afford costlier and no-valoue-added options, and in the long run neither can those in the public domain as they have to raise or keep tax levels relatively higher to fund higher cost structures.

The ban is temporarily a populist policy for whatever objectives they have in mind, but in the long run it is bound to be counterproductive.

guys in the US cannot work round the clock.Only we have this time benifit. I dont understand why the US is seeing this as an opportunity or seeing us as friends rather than considering us as hostile job snatchers

I strongly feel YES. Though these bans on offshoring on cant play a major role in creating jobs. The stringent problem with US is lack of jobs. These strategies just divert the jobs from India to US local hiring, rather than creating jobs from US. though it may affect Indian IT Co's, but this can be easily overcome by increasing the hiring in US. Thus, I feel, these policies are just wiping the tears of US citizens to get a clutch hold in the upcoming elections in US.

US policies, especially in regard to foreign policies have gone wrong and caused misery to many in developing countries. The long term effects of their policy formulations are not calibrated properly as the power of mighty is over weighed in implementation and not their after effects. Well we have to deal with such power equations and be careful in our policies as every Nation which went close to US has suffered.

I agree they cannot curb it DIRECTLY by banning such an activity. It will affect their foreign policy badly.

However they can and they are making it very expensive or extremely disagreeable to outsource.
