They are welcomed. The competition will help the Indian consumers to get the quality products at a minimal cost. Its is obvious that it will affect the business of the kirana shop. But on the other hand Indian Kirana shops are based on "Relationship Marketing". They don't go for price war. So these MNCs are welcomed which in turn help the Indian consumer as a whole.

Never Indian retail companies never going to sell trusted products at nominal rate with a good customer service ,as foreign companies do....

It wouldn't be a healthy step as it will have an adverse effect. 20% of India depends on exports market which will reduce drastically. Small scale retailers will be effected (India has at least one in a lane). End of the day these giants will be making a huge loss if things don't work their way!
