It is very much possible and achievable. The key lies in responsive governance, thoughtful infrastructure creation, efficient adherence, disciplined regulation and sense of ownership in national assets by one and all .

India is the richest country in natural resources. But indians are not utilizing them fully. If we want India to be beautiful first step is to change the attitude of its people on individual level. When every individual understand and play its part in making India beautiful, only then it will be possible to make india beautiful.

Yes it is possible provided we improve our civic sense. And this is possible if we have a well thought out plan. Educating children and adults alike , making our civic bodies accountable and enforcing strict punishment to violators could be some ways to achieve it. In India some bodies have shown that it could be done like Delhi Metro.

The countryside of India is almost neglected. The Local Govts. due to paucity of funds they wont take up any developmental activities. The open drainage system, absence of public toilets, the unattended garbage are the worst things one can observe in village. Local bodies have to be empowered with adequate funds to cater to these essential needs. Govts. are failing to address these problems. If these little things are taken care of, we can make our India as beautiful as other developed nations.

Nature has endowed this great country called "India" already with natural resources, forest cover with medicinal plants, mineral resources, perennial reivers, mountains, glaciers, very vast agricultural land, varieties of flora and fauna, various species of aquatic and land animals, monsoons happening every season, climatic condition suitable for habitats! In your view, this set-up is not aesthetic, I think, you want concrete jungle to be called "aesthetic"! Appreciation of Beauty lies in your mind! If you visit every village in this country, there is a sense of discipline and they follow all natural things. What is really alarming is when the slum erupts in a busy urban conglomeration, slum-dwelling looks pathetic! Government should do something to re-habilitate them! People's mentality should change!

Definitely. First of a law should be passed and taken up as a national mission to chalk out a master plan for the identification of green belts & pockets in and around the cities & other settlements. Then it should be strictly monitored by the monitoring agency having administrative as well as judiciary powers related to that subject. Fear alone can rule this country. Once used to it, then it can be a routine affair.

There is only one sentence in Muralidharan's post that is worth 'considering' and that is "People's mentality should change! ". People's mentality is NOT going to change however positive you are because of our culture. Hence, we shouldn't worry much about a beautiful india.
