The Commonwealth Games end on Thursday with an opportunity lost to show off New Delhi to the world after a collapsing bridge, rogue snakes, health scares and heavy-handed security took the sheen off "Incredible India".

But India's economic juggernaut has emerged unscathed despite dire predictions a chaotic Games could repel investors, a signal returns are too enticing for foreign firms hardened to realities of doing business in a booming trillion-dollar economy.

What do you think people, Was Commonwealth games a metaphor for Investing in India??

Yes it was, the whole world was looking at us and with the negative media criticism that these games got, investors had lost faith in India, so they were looking for the successfull games finish, which is happening at the moment, though in the first week there were hardly any crowds, but in the 2nd week we could easily see the number raise to a great level, we saw good crowd at all the venues and now today its the closing ceremony. If concluded well India could ring in its cash registers interms of Investment happening in India like anything, the costliest Commonwealth games ever will make sure that great investment is happening in India..

Yes I agree with your views, whatever the problems encountered politically or otherwise, the CWG has been staged or demonstrated in a well manner leading to success.

Thanks for the referral Ms. Leena Khade.

I dont agree so. It just showcased that we could spend money without much planning and we can bloat up our budget beyond what was initially planned. It showed political roots can wipe of any dirty work. It showed that planning is the last thing we people rely on. I know I sound a bit harsh but Common weatlh is the last thing investors should compare to before investing in india. ITs a different matter all together that events went all well and so did the closing/opening ceremony but we all know how it went through . But yes , we did prove that inspite of all the chaos we have a way of doing last minute corrections like no other in the business.
