True Kavita...Yes the government has been taking a soft stance towards these terrorism issues, in fact we still haven't yet gotten over the 26/11 fiasco and here we have another uneventful incident. It basically boils down to an extremely weak & inefficient "INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM"; strange and ridiculous that areas in the form of the OSHO communne, CHABAD centre and frequented spots by foreigners were soft targets and moreover were KNOWN to the government & intelligence and yet mercilessly attacked.

Yes, agree with views of all, though i'm a die hard supporter of Democracy but there is something wrong with our leaders. They are not taking actions and our people are being killed. We need some young blood in our politics. After Indira Gandhi we never had any political leader who really did something. Can anybody answer why Pune's security wasn't raised when we were warned by USA one month before that Pune and Mumbai are going to be targeted?? Same was for Kargil?? This is not only because we are not prosper as USA but its a matter of negligence and irresponsibilities of our politician and intelligence organisations.

Priyanka you are right but just by having forums like this for discussing such a big issue is not correct.....what are we doing just blaming someone and our government!Well if my opinion was to be counted then I would vouche for a presidential rule or to an extreme and exagareted idea have a dictator to rule over India for next 10yrs,a Dictator who has vision, knowledge, learned person with guts to retain India social status of peace and harmony,to take immediate action and ruthless ction against corrupt citizens,be it the one who gives bribe or the one who takes a bribe. India is it wants to sustain and be united needs to have people who are real leaders ...but infortunately we are having Democracy..where there is freedom of speech, action and antisocial activities. We(citizens) are cowards who dont have the guts, if anyone has then there we will lack in unity,if we have unity there we will lack in integrity, and if integrety is present we will lack in trust,if trust is there we will lack in Honesty. We Indians are useless, hopeless citizens who neither with the power of pen neither with the power of gun can bring our coountry our nation back to harmony and peace, and also to add on this weakness we have become greedy...the power of money controls us. If we will continue this type of governance I am sure mumbai attacks and pune attacks and jammu kashmir attacks will be nothing as u will see we (India) will not be able to counter the internal fights, and internal attacks and subdivision of India.

After 26/11 our Home Minister bravely announced that another such attack would bring India to war with Pakistan. Now that the time has come for that, you can expect our Govt and its leaders to put the blame on some Indian group and even pressing for a composite dialogue [with all the empathy they deserve:)] with our dear neighbours!

In my opinion the government and the politicians are doing nothing to curb terriosm. There is no chance as long as the current political system exists. Wake up and prepare to vote in the next general elections in full strength. Remove the old useless guards for once and all. Bring in new lot who are real fighters and have feeling for the homeland. The current lot has no wish and no vision of how to tackle the situation. The security of politicians is increased every time the red alert is declared and those like you and me are left to the mercy of God. The system waits untill bomb blast to occur and than start reacting. The current authorities have failed miserably. Please go for vote and also bring alongwith all the elegible voters for a better and safe India. Indian government should bring strict laws, which can be implemented effectively. Our intelligence system should be made more practical and effective. Most important thing is that there should be proper co-ordination between central and states government and there should not be any blame game from both side.

I am not saying that politicians are crooking attacks.........But I blame them for not taking any safety measures..why there is no consistent security in places like Pune, Mumbai etc? why is the place not secured when the politicians know that this place can be targeted? I am particularly concerned with the precautions which they fail to take...

Our country is governed by such polticians who lacks competence and intelligence to govern our country. Why are they so hopeless and not taking actions to avoid such attacks? They should take some lessons from countries like USA in which after the 9/11attack there has been no attack taken place in that country. Let the elections go to hell!!!!!!!I feel that the politicians should come together and work for one country i.e India. It is now time to say enough is enough!!!!!!!

well..sudden action after mumbai attacks were removing the chief minister and the Home minister. we had a serious situation and i was not aware Mr Chidambaram and Ashok Chavan were having any kind of Intelligence Agancy background!!!!. there you can say the the political drama just to impress "people". and i am sure some "people" were really impressed. there are thousands of places where people gather.and most of the places dont have a thorough security scan. well the so called "indianness" suddenly sprout and you get emotional about your life and point your fingers at the "still corrupt" politicians , its just the character. today 24 jawans killed after a Maoist attack. and i can see it was reported on the 12th page while the "probe" on pune attack lay in front page warning about "terrorism". media does good anyways.!!! "people" say enough is enough...what does that mean..we have heard that alot. this is a good place to live and all of us want to live the way we like. "terrorism" bring "people" closer while a fight in the street is invisible...its sad...but go on...react..

Terrorim in an interntionally widespread problem. There are certain root causes the seeds of which were and allowed to grow through generation before us. There are no qucik fix solutions. In my opinion one of the best ways to counter terrorism from internaland external sources is to incorporate wholesome public participation in the process of safe guards and internal security. Not jutifying many things they did, the method adopted by Israel in safeguarding themselves may be a typical example that can be looked into. Every citizen there, men and women, has to undergo compulsory military training and field service immediately after the secondary school education. Thereafter, invariouabley everyone has to work in the army for some fixed period every year, irrepective of who they are, what they are and where they are. It make people to learn to sense and know about things that happen around them and can take pecautions and initiate preventive actions. It promotes general awarenss in the people in first place and along with it the mental and physical fitness needed. I agree, that like most of the suggestions we find in different forum, this is also easier said than done in a country like ours. Even with all these activities Israel is still constantly under unrest one way or other but how they survives is to be appreciated. Still, it is worth trying out in India also, in a possible way to begin with may be by making the Scout and NCC participation compulsory for every student. Paramilitary training of various levels and durations shall be made compulsory for every able bodied grown up citizen. the main aim shall be to make them aware of various threats to the nation as well as the society they live in and train and prepare their minds about the safegurds against terrorism and inculcate the feeling of secularism and nationalism. I would request interested members to read my article 'A bitter Pill for India reprieve" posted in parts in TooStep where thesea re discussed elaborately.

True Priyanka but as u said that in a month or so, crisis situation n suggestions, agitations, demands from Govt. by us become slow n eventually its Us.. who forget it. Who is Govt then?? Govt is an integral part of system n it doesnt move unless we keep them moving. Its totally us who should keep asking them all the time. Why blame them only n get free as if our duty is over?? Can't we keep asking them unitely?? Cant we take measures on own? Wedensday movie showed this theme in a great way that if one man can make whole system shaky, imagine we together.....!! Think!!

I agree. Why we keep blaming all the time to politicians. Aren't they same as we are? After all, they are the true reflection of maturity of our society i.e. We, the people. The fact is simple. We all (including me) are so involved in our personal lives, satisfying our own needs that we've forgot our some of important duties as citizen of India & If we are awake, we should be the first to show the way. So lets stop dwelling in the past or cursing the current situation n blaming the politicians. Letus get up n do something about it.Politicians were, are & in fact will remain same unless we become the "CHANGE". Situation won't change until we as a society change & keep eye on what is happening surrounding us. Be clear that I am not saying to quit our regualar duties. In our respective terms, we all are serving our nation. Only we have to be focussed, & ALERT.
