Prakash good debate and vineeth I do agree Ac's produce green house gases but compared to other emitters it is very less. As the global warming is taking place the climate is becoming horrible life with out Ac is quit miserable but we should use it only necessary. But should think of some other alternative to control it.

I agree with Somshekhar, first of all we all should plant a tree, and then it helps in our problem. Actually now we cant adjust without A.C., but it is destroying our earth we need to make plans for future. Our next generation wont use A.C if we start working today on tree planting.. Please comment.....

Carbon emissions due to Ac are a significant proportion of the global total.

Sustainable solutions such as solar ac must be pursued. See www.solar-polar.co.uk

Air condition companies are not the cause here. there are lot other factors involved in this. inorder to control green house effect we have to fouce on trees development, automobiles, plastics, power plants , etc.

It is a good idea, it is good idea for regions in india. But when we think about the areas in gulf area, it is not at all possible.

This is good idea. The amount of carbon released by AC is huge and its one of major source for global warming. The uses of AC should be minimize and make all the offices and malls to give carbon tax. By imposing the carbon tax on these offices and malls the uses of AC can be minimize.we have to find other alternative also.

Sitting in a AC room, we are debating this topic.. changes are unchangable in the world.. if no AC, we need to cut down the trees for heating up in the winter/spring and wooden roofs for summer.. cutting the trees for both the seasons is not possbile. Stoping the use of AC will not lead to make the world more green......

Dear All, its good to say that why people are using air conditioners but its very true that we are also using the same but still we want to write this argument. only good thing we can do is we cant stop people using air conditioners but we can atleast make them aware of Energy Conservation and to switch off the AC's when its actually not required. for this we can ask them to either use Occupancy Sensors which can control the lights, fans and AC's in cabins, conference rooms, meeting rooms etc., alternatively there are many other common areas where we find lights are on when actually not required. for eng: toilets, car parks, lift landing areas, staircase, passages & many more where lights will be on 24/7 and that area will be occupied only for 20% of the time, so we can install motion sensors or PIR sensors or ultrasonic sensors to control and save energy.

i don't think its possible for us to ask people to stop using AC's but we can atleast recomment or suggest them to use the same when it is actually required.

Dear Vineet, why people are using air conditioners. If Climate is good who is going to use AC.The main Cause for using AC is Temperature. Again Temp is linked to the Trees. Because of deforestation Global temp is increasing day by day and more people are using AC. First we need to stop the Deforestation and need to grow more trees then the temp will be goes down if temp is normal then who will going to purchase AC if no one is purchasing AC then companies stop production rate of AC. Instead of AC we can Use Air Coolers in homes but in cars you cannot use. I will agree that because of AC Global temp is increasing but we have to see the reason for using AC no.

Yes it is a good idea, I support it. We should reduce the usage of AC for this the AC production should be brought down. Even in cars there should be no such facilities. Today cars are the major producers of green house gases, even if the climate is good they run AC's and also when the cars is parked/waiting.

Banning AC's is one effective way to control ozone damage......
