When you see the stiff english upper lip standing or waiting to receive Ratan Tata or the middle east business leaders turning towards a sunil mittal to rescue them, the indian mind indeed swells with pride. I am referring to the TATA buyout of Jaguar and the Bharti buy out of Zain telecom. Our business leaders are indeed going places and taking indian business and its operational effeciencies to the world. But closer home they are unable to do much because of a racalcitrant government which views them with suspicion.

Certainly......without any doubt & with pride, I wd like to say that western leaders can learn from their Indian counterparts. India is the most dynamic market in d world where innovation, business & technical acumen will continue to grow & thrive for many decades to come... Indians are ideas people – and Leaders in India run their businesses on philosophy “sustainable growth for all” CEOs & leaders in India are extremely good at managing people & situation effectively in trying times [e.g. recession/credit turmoil had very little impact on Indian Inc.] India Leaders know the pulse of the International Business & its requirements & have the right credentials to lead the business world. Westerners have already started following & learning from Indian bosses e.g. MR. Vikram Pandit [CEO Citibank]

Yes western leaders can and do learn from their Indian counterparts. For eg. Carlos Ghosn (CEO Renault/Nissan) learnt about frugal engineering from an Indian counterpart - Anand Mahindra (D.Chairman M&M). There could be more such examples but the point the article makes is for hard-core Ivy-league grads to learn and not to suggest that Indians are better in all the spheres of work of a top boss. There are comparative strengths and weakness in both sides, but then again its all about the individual and we could not apply blanket generalization of people from some geography being better than others. But nonetheless a simple but important point to note for the western leaders, which they definitely will.

Most westerners are very system oriented and flounder when something comes up under pressure out of the ordinary. Most of the successful CEO are marked by their ability to think and act out of the box! Indian CEOs find merit in being a bit flexibe and cut corners when the need is realy there.

Non-profitable organization like U.S. Govt learn things from Afro-american leader. Why not the CEO's learns from Indian CEO's as long as both aspire to achieve the same or similar business objectives. No harm in it. As discussed by the support team, many good traits and business acumen are applied in Indian business. Gudo's to their cretentials & appreciate their personal endeavour.

Yes you are right Mr.Makrand Bhave. Thanks for the referral. Indian CEOs are no way inferior to others in the world. The world has to learn from us. examples, the industrial developments in our country including the defence & space research. All our planning by our CEOs related to any business in our country involves the welfare of all concerned. They contribute for the total growth and not on the basis of divisive type. India has rich culture firmly rooted in the minds of everybody.

Well, I have to say "Yes" b'cause the CEO of the company where I do my job is an Indian CEO(:-) Well, to be serious. On one side the addressed CNN news don't impress me. First of all there are compared US Ceo average style with Ceo Indian average style. May be Us executives are as described but Us executives are definitivelu not representatives for all "Ceo western style": there are great differences with the "social model" of many Eu companies, for example. Regarding Indian Ceo contribution to the country welfare, I'm not able to judge, being a foreigner living abroad. Any case, in general terms, I suppose we have to consider that the actual India's success (with some of the cost that had been highlighted by the oppositie opinion in the right side) is a shered result due to the different Indian society's segments: from workers to employers, from individual contributors to managers, from the poorest citizen till the most powerful pilocymaker.

Personally i believe, our most Indian bosses are work holic , if u work more hours they thing u r Hard Working Person.
I think India's growing because of huge working class population.
How many companies thinking about environment? to protect our earth, everyone wants to make quick bucks and leave the environment?
When any Indian boss coming to Abroad he thinks he's "Super Man", rest of the local ppl don't know anything, i can share with u, especially how many Indian corporates are sucessfull in Abroad?
Let us discuss.
