Business ethic may mean "value for the money" & marketing mean "promote sales & the bottom-line". So, a strategy is to be devised, in such a way, that these things are achieved.Advt is one of the strategy. This looks a bit abnormal , as discussed here. But, we forget a fact that we need to compete with international products . So, a face lift of advt is also required. This is designed with so many things the marketer collected from the mass.psychology, buying pattern, fashion trend, time available to show-case , the media available and also the economical method etc. Certainly, an advt come out after all this process. Advt aims as said to promote sales that is the Name.

MANUFACTURERS WITH AN INTENTION TO ATTRACT NEW CUSTOMERS AND TO RETAIN THE EXISTING CUSTOMERS FOR THE PRODUCT TRIES ALL GIMMICKS,IN THE SHORT DURATION AVAILABLE.THEY HAVE CONSTRAINTS LIKE TOO MANY ADS IN SHORT TIME,REMOTE BEING USED FREQUENTLY BY TV VIEWERS,HIGH COST OF ADS.SO THEY RESORT TO THE EASIER OPTION OF MAKING THE AD ATTRACTIVE WHETHER RELEVANT OR NOT.ONLY AIM TO PROJECT THE BRAND TO GAIN QUICKER RECALL MEMORY.SO THE PRESENT DAY ADVERTISERS HAVE LIMITED TIME TO THINK OF ETHICS.

Hi ... i do like idea about negative liking but lemme put for you a question ... There are 2 add for selling a knife .. 1 says that it helped sum mass murderer kill its victims in 1 shot with umber sharp results and other says it can even cut a steel rod as smoothly as slicing a butter. Assuming that the 1st add was made with a lot of to be continued and scary stuff and second one was made with salman khan featuring as the cutter guy ....Which one would make you buy the knife ??

Hi Varun...unfortunately debate have only 2 options, and sorry but both options doesn't fit. The add means just not letting ppl your name or any reason. Selling a product is a strategy. A good advertiser can do this with teasers only. A good add means a right thought, in a right manner, with a good storyline and at a right time. The add you have chosen is worst add i have ever seen and same question strike in my mind when i first saw it. And asked my father "i can't understand this add - do u? he said it is just nothing connecting product with bikini girl. This could just for some eye attraction. OR one more reason could be publicity in such way, as today we ppl are discussing it. Overall for today's market conditions market ethics for business person is about selling it's product with any pros & cons and they r doing it. But this add represents a worst scenario of advertising but a clever step of promotion...

Validating an existence is most important as it signifies a life and anything that breathes has a lifecycle. As long as there is no nudity / sex / porn shown in advertisiements which can jolt a consumers sense of right and wrong, I feel that a little titillation, excitement or some visible palpitation is excusable. I would also hold the creative responsible if the exposure is senseless!! These are not ethics these are methods to catch the consumer where it 'hurts" most OR 'excites" most!! I firmly think that as long as the boundaries of sanity are not crossed, it is still a communication that is either doing its job and is liked or not doing its job and still negatively liked!! IMPACT :)
