Low price does not mean the low quality always. We can take the example of the Amul flavored milk, ice cream. But in most of the cases high price means high quality. Also high price means good brand.

Mr. Shah, where does BRAND feature here?? Brand needs a much stronger mention than just price and quality of a product!! Its the brand which decides the course of action of the buyer!! The packaging and the price and the quality are much later in the course.

I would look for the brand that satisfies my emotional quotient, then the quality quotient an then the wallet quotient. Its a good debate.

If this question has been asked to a high society man, he will say "Quality" immaterial of price. If this question is asked to a Poor man, he will say "Price" and an average class person will say "Both Product and price". Same case is with me. I prefer both. Quality as well as price. Though I give more stress on Price...

I think both does matter for a general people on day to day basis. You may know that Rolls Royce will be of quite good brand with quality but every one cant afford it to buy. I would say its subjective on affordability

Mr. Bhave, are you trying to say that all the buyer buy the product by keeping the brand in their mind???? I think buying behavior varies from product to product. In many cases people prefer to buy unbranded product that have reasonable price and quality.

Quality is the top most priority for every one. That doesn't mean "Quality" comes only with High Price.. NO !! Good quality products can come in Low price or at affordable price. For instance: Most of the Indian Woman use Godrej Hair dye..Do I need to say further :))

A smart customer can have both.

To take some examples, if one wants to buy a cotton shirt, that doesn't always means going for a high price shall reward you the proportionate quality. Being smart, if you know where to buy a good cotton fabric & where to stitch it well, you can have more value for what you pay.

To take another, one can purchase during sale periods where you can have even upto 50 % discount even on branded goods.

If you can understand the wheat, why waste money paying more for a packaged flour.

If you have good communication skills, you can bargain, then pay lesser to what other is paying, like when you buy vegetables.

There are umpteen examples where a buyer can get more vale & quality for what he/she pays the thing is one has to be a smart buyer in terms of market understanding & one's particular needs.

It;s obvious if one is looking for quality the concern for price dilutes, you pay for whatever the quality you buy... for my Quality matters most.

Quality is the first thing that comes in my mind while purchasing a product. bcoz paying a few bugs more for a good product is worth it.

Quality is always number one. I recollect a time when I was overseas and purchased Chinese shoes. One costing the equivalent of 100 Rs. lasted 5 years, including abuse in the Mumbai rains, dust, 6 km walks etc.

During this time, I visited Metro and got conned by aggressive salespeople who hardly allowed me to look at the stuff, I got some stuff worth 1600 Rs. In two weeks time, it was like soles coming apart and stuff like that. To date, I have never stepped or taken even my family members or friends to even peek in this joint.

Other is the Crompton greaves (grieves is more like it). Their fans and mixers hardly lasted 2 months, and the quality was so shoddy it wasn;t worth even ricking it back and looking for replacements. With my general temper and intolerance for sloppiness, out when the stuff. TO DATE ALL PRODUCTS FROM THIS SETUP IS BANNED FROM THE HOUSEHOLD !

Price up and down I dont mind, since if the product lasts, the price is forgotten, but BAD QUALITY - man that Brand is ENEMY for life !

My personal feelings on quality of the products I buy are SO STRONG I don't hesitate to name mucked up and shoddy products and brands, but one thing is also sure. I dont waste time to replace or talk it over. If it is new and bad, it is bad - CHEATS I dont tolerate.

Obviously quality is the prime parameter for me for anything in market. It may be food stuff, furniture, garments, construction materials,or house hold items. As there are many concrete proofs that low quality materials most of the time create lots of harressment in due course of life.
