Inner or outer beauty depands on other criteria, if for marriage - it is inner beauty and if it is for receptionist/personal secretary etc then it is for outer beauty.

Hi, Amritha, defintely it is inner beauty, but till we understand that we need outer beauty to be seen; if outer beuty is very bad, the person judging the inner beauty of the other person should not get biased and stop judging. Inner beauty can be well understood only after lot of interaction and study, whereas outer beauty can be seen and understood relatively in less time.

I would test the inner beauty of a person especially the character and his approach towards a situation or a given problem... Its the inner beauty which judges a person's character, but let me make a contrary statement here... If i were to look for a Girlfriend, then i would see both her Outer Beauty and her character(Inner beauty) bcoz her outer beauty will reflect her girlish look... and her character will reflect her true crave for either Real love for the individual of the opposite sex or the money and position that the individual of the opposite sex possesses..since i feel in today's world, being independent is better.. one should take care of his own finances..once this is done, then automatically there will be a crave for True Love between the opposite sexes...

I agree with Mr.Suresh P Gupta if u are gud and also feel good inside , then u have a pleasant appearance. Initially people might judge you depending upon ur outer beauty but inner beauty reflects the "true YOU".

we talk about inner beauty ...but how you know about it because without seeing any one i can not communicate and i can not say that some one's heart is as pure as Ganga but after that i believe in God and God gave us to power to know what is true or false so if some one is not beautiful but his/her inner beauty attract to you without seeing them.

The subject in debate is archaic and lots have already been written.

Its an old dictum that inner self is the discovery of the real self and what you think is the way you look and that is the perception people derive.

You can't just write a two liner in support or against.

I will first go in for outer beauty because only if you are outwardly beautiful, will someone come close to you to experience your inner beauty.

If you are ugly looking, no one would be even interested to talk to you leave alone explore your inner beauty. All this talk abt going in for outer beauty is just whimsical and trying to project the right attitude wheread deep down we would all be wanting to talk to a beautiful person first.

I think everyone told inner beauties, i will same  but if you like someone firstly what you see his/her, if you like someone there is no option inner or outer because you like hearty. physical beauty is not stay a long time but Spiritual beauty stay with you anytime anywhere.......  any one firstly see his/her personality, how is he/she?  please face to the real life real thing if you are not physically fit than how to maintenance in your mind........so i will support to Outer Beauty

Amrita-thank you for the referral but as I live in a real world, for me outer beauty is more important. I am defining beauty here as the qualities that strike anyone when they look at you. Interviwers do not search for your inner beauty-do they? Outer beauty is what real life interactin is all about. Inner beauty or inner principles is just a ' metaphysical' term which somebody coined to con others. And what Mr Varghese says is not true. Tell me how many smart looking dumbos that you know? I know lots....

1.In the fast paced world of today, what delivers success and mileage in the short run?  OUTER BEAUTY

2.In a first interaction , what registers ? OUTER BEAUTY

3.One can be a sage and philosophical , for some time , but what rings in the spirit of youth , romance , music , poetry ? OUTER BEAUTY

With great respect to our learned friends I argue for outer beauty, Why ? what is the first thing you get attracted to when you see someone? you have not known to him/her or let it be nature its outer beauty, if that is not the case we did not have cosmetic industry. Just we kind to them plenty of money involved and plenty of jobs at stake, oh! not only that our film industry, what is seen their its outer beauty only.If you are not beautiful/ handsome fan clubs are testimony to that. We say it easily that inner beauty is what we want but first thing is outer beauty which attracts anyone.In the long run I will agree with inner beauty but who has the time for long in this age?
