Hotel industry is a very service oriented industry but technology has entered here also.. People use softwares for database management, for logistics and some use CRM softwares also..

How does it help the Hoteliers and whether this field demands more of technology or human touch.

HUMAN Touch! Hospitality is all about people and presenting a human environment where the comfort levels are "HOME AWAY FROM HOME!"

!!Atithi Devo Bhavah!!

Treat guests like god. OFFER them the comforts that the hotel stands for and ensure that they partake the services with utmost glee!

It is Human touch that gets this desired result. Technology helps in understanding the guests need and then entice them to stay over and over again!

I completely support Mr. Adesh Dalvi on this one.

The better Human Touch is offered to a customer, warmer the visit becomes. the warmer the visit becomes, happier the customer is and the happier the customer is, the higher service satisfaction is projected.

Even in today's date, its more about how caring you are towards the customer than how amazing your interiors are. yes, all of the following points matter a lot towards making the customer's visit an unforgettable experience

- Environment/Ambiance
- Attention/Service Attentiveness [this means, greetings, pleasant faces, understanding of the choices and preferences of the customer, making sure of the customer's understanding of the servings!] (this i have noticed more than 60% that the waiter who is attending you doesnt know a thing about what goes into the making of the anything out of the menu. i mean even the most novice waiter should know at least the basics of making.)
- Personal Touch/Service Provider's Personal Comments
- The Food [as we are talking specific to hotels] [this is very important that the customer is addicted to the taste & quality of food that you provide]

These are some of the brief necessary points which are very much of the necessity!

Hotel Business Rules !!!!!

According to me first and foremost requirement is high human touch. All service industries give priority to customers and their requirements. And for hotels it is nothing different. Customers expect good service when they visit a hotel.

Technology can help after the customer visits by keeping a track of customers preference.
