What is in a Name?

In India, caste name definitely has an impact on the person with whom we are interacting, be it a job interview, a business meeting or even in a casual get-together. While many individuals in Tamil Nadu have dropped the caste names suffixes, this trend continues in other parts of the country. While for the person on the lower end of the caste bar the use of caste name suffix does not have any impact, the upper caste definitely do have an unfair advantage by using the caste name suffix. 

Our country can show real progress only if the caste system is abolished entirely and as a starter people must not use caste name suffixes. It should be made illegal to use such suffixes.

While the best method would be to bring about a change in the mindset of people in order to drop the caste name suffixes, wouldn't it be better to speed up the process by enacting a law to make it illegal to use caste name suffixes? What do you feel ...
