Even Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor are given script for what they have to convey during the said advertisement of any commodity although they are quite presentable and good looking. Hard work has its own importance ever and will have the same ever. Presentation will add only spice to the menu offered. At the dash one may be quite presentable but fails to deliver a single word, will it be appreciated, I doubt.

According to my point of view, Many business people put a lot of time and energy into their Project rather than Presentation. But For something as important as your career, more effort is put forth to make a good impression. When presented correctly, they can portray your efforts, and the value of your project. There's not much of a limit on your creative ideas. The actual principle is to keep all of your information neatly organized and presented in an attractive, accurate and organized manner. It is also good if your audience feels the information has been prepared specifically for them. Rasla.MB

To make a presentation also requires hardwork. Many a time, hardworks are over looked but it is completely compensated by a presentation of his/her work based presentation only.

I think presentation is important. Take the case of a marriage proposal a hard working girl with minimum make up will not be chosen by the elders of the family. On the contarary, a girl in her best make up and with high english speaking will be a dream for the parents of the groom. Unfortunately she will almost be zero in her day to day work or for that matter hard work all her inefficiencies will be behind the make up. Hence though no replacement of hard work but presentation is what it matters.

Would you like to be a rain-bearing cloud or silver-lining cloud! The persons achieved greatness in the past are not presentable - say, for instance, Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Aravinda Ghose, etc. If one develops both in the modern day, they will certainly be valued. People skills are more valued than technical skills.

A balance amount of both are required. Simply presentation will keep one at top level, but one fine morning he will be grounded. Hard work with no presentation means always on the ground like me.

Generally people see how you work, Presentation will make you to get the work, but to make the project successful you need to do hardwork, which people consider. I can simply say Presentation will get a work, but hardwork will get more works.

But i am right now working in Gulf, so here more of a presentation works on the mind of people more than the hardwork. But hard work also is a must. I dont like to get salary without hardwork i feel bad to get salary without hardwork.

Present scenario in the market is to get the desired skills & work profiles in a ziffy. As there are many overlapping of job profiles clubbed with unwanted skills for a perticular work, screening & deciding takes time & money to come to the right candidate for the desired work profile. Hard work does reflect in the crisp presentation, however, hard work without proper presentation to make the requirement & skille match, when you are interacting is vital. Krishna Burli

This is a bad trend. The presentable one will also be unpresentable within say a year and the whole organisation will be in dolldrums. The current group of unpresentable but the pillars of the organisation will make this group of presentable group may be by gossiping and will leave one after another. I am of the openion this system will not work.

Thanks,Diya for referral. The presentable and presentation are two different things.A person can be be presentable but he lacks skill to present .On the contrary, the presentation is not necessarily the acme of the presentable person. You are right that companies like a person who can explain through presentation. The logic behind is explaining company's activities by a hard working person through presentation.

In too busy and dynamic schedules nobody notices hard work unless presented in a proper, convincing and logical manner. I may also differ with the views of Mr. Vishal Rastogi, as a person putting in hard work, but if he does not have the capability to present that in a convincing manner, he and his work mostly remains out of notice of the authorities. Someone else tries to take credit for his hard work and gets rewards at the cost of the hard worker. The presenting skills have its own value, at least in the corporate environments. The authorities like and appreciate only those people who have the ability to present the work well, irrespective of whether that may not have any tangible value. Only a very few sensible, alert, impartial and rational bosses appreciate hard work rather than presentation and help the employee to present that to get him noticed, if the employee himself fails to present that properly. That is only an exception in the present day scenario. My above views are based on practical experience of about four decades in various small to very big level organizations.

Good Presentation is a must. It is “Smart Work” and always a Smart worker gets ahead faster as compared to a hard worker. Of course, one has to remember that the part of smart work is to be knowledgeable (about the work), having a good IQ and EQ, working hard when required, etc. Only by presentation, one cannot be successful always. They may have success that would be temporary. The presentation has to be backed by real stuff. Good presentation is like Good Packaging. Packaging is very important to a product’s success. In fact it is one of the most important factor in a products success. However, if the product has great packaging but low quality then it would fail after some time.

This comparison is incorrect. One has to work really hard to prepare a good presentation. At the same time, all the hard work pales if it is not presented properly. Both are complimentary to each other and are necessry ingredients for success.

Hard work pays off - but to get recognized through hard work takes a very long time. But the guy/ girl, who presents himself/herself well would have taken inputs from the hardworking colleagues and then presented it as his/her own. I have noticed new recruits struggling to get accustomed to office dynamics, another fresh entrant comes in, who is glamorous, outgoing and finds higher level of comfort with bosses (rather than peers), and grab all the attention, pay hikes etc., The issue here is what do the bosses want: do they want "work output or work content" or "form of presentation or magnetic personality of the employee". If the bosses opt for the second alone, they are going to lose the hardworking employees. It is high time, the companies realize, what they want: form or content or both; what is the priority? Resentment of hardworking employees, when they are not rewarded, has wide ramifications. Hard work pays off - it is true, but nowadays, it takes a very long time to get that pay off, and the tolerance level of hardworking employees is under test.

Thanks Diya. There is not substitute for hardwork. Presentation is something which relates to advertising. In the end the hardwork is something which builds an organization and is responsible for the long term growth. Presentation is good for fast and easy way of achieving results than hardwork.

Both hard-work and presentation are important to make a particular thing to be a favorable one. The Presentation sounds well as for as school or college life is concerned. But once when you entered into job hard-work is the most important thing. There is a difference between presenting a product with an excellent outer presentation but if the final outcome of the product fails to meet the user requirement then the particular product is considered to be a flop one. But definitely the outcome of the hard-work will be the correct one. So I think hard-work is more important than presentation.

Without hard work you don't have any content to present. If your presentation is copy of someone else hard work then you have to answer many queries during presentation. Do hard work & present (good, better, best comes later) it. That's the secret of success.

Presentation has many layers like average, good, better, best, excellent, and perfect, but hardwork has only one level which is hardwork itself,so to decide between hardwork and presentation, which one is valued more we should see how much efforts should we put in coming out with a perfect and outstanding presntation, hence there is noone in this world who would value presentation over hardwork. hardwork + attitude= solid presentation.
