Agree absolutely. It is better to diffuse the situation with a laugh or two and go on with it. There is no point in exacerbating the sitatuaion by arguing or otherwise.

LISTENING , according to my view is the best way to diffuse any situation during a conversation......unpleasant situations occur frequently during conversations as because each side is trying to be heard but neither side is listening......thanks for sharing Rohit sir

Like every coin has two sides, every argument will have two extreme paradigms. Arguments based on prejudices will result in explosion. Conversation should begin with open mind, analyse pros and cons to arrive at consensus on weightage depending on the situation.

Thanks,Rohit for referral.I am going with this side for reason that conversation begins informally. There is no agenda and no target. If it takes the form of argument which actually was not the motive,it had better to withdraw with an excuse.
