The conflict between Marketing and Finance have a great effect on the decision making process especially in SMEs.

Marketing is never a cash generating unit. In fact sales is the cash generating unit. But Finance is responsible for maintaining and properly using the cash available in the company, no matter it is the capital or profit. Finance dept helps the company in running the business in the very best way ensuring that each and every expenditure is best worth. Marketing unit has got nothing to do with cash generation directly.
