govt is playing a significnat role in catering to the healthcare needs of the country; however much more needs to be done! healthcare seems to be a burden on every govt. the liability of spending even when govt does not want to makes them take the intitiative but it never materilalizes to the best output. vision of providing world class facilties still remains a distant dream. the bueureaucratic red tapism has such a tight noose on the healthcare system that we cant even think of rising above the primary healthcare i our country (pls consider the population in toto!). i wud suggest pls increase the spending on healthcare, bring in insurance at the grassroot level, fill in vacant posts of healthcare professionals in the rural areas (by making these posts more financially attractive/ provision of post grad study leave for professionals),focus on infrastructure etc. a lot needs to be done...its easier said done!! last but not the least, political will is a MUST!!

In India Govt. has to play a very important role. As govt can provide healthcare at affordable cost. India being a middle_low income group country can improve itself at this ground only by govt. interference.

Healthcare industry should be very closely monitored by the Government. Especially in areas of pricing and quality management. In a poor country like India we cannot allow the industry be dictated by the market forces.

Yes, govt. should definately provide support to healthcare industries in India, Because, as, we can see the present health status of our India, It can be easily noticeble that there is more spread of communicable diseases, Other major diseases, & Infections throughout the population, which directly affects the per capita income of our country. & directly to the economy of our country, so, Instead the govt. should take optimal to educate people about awareness for their Health, Proper nutrition, Healthy lifestyle, proper medication along with a good contribution to physical exercises..

With the kind of population india have ..i believe that govt of india has a huge potential for revenue...more and more foreign health care industries are ready to invest in india..but yes i do feel that the role of govt of india should be more of a regulatory one

Mr. Arvind, we appreciate your great concern for this country. Your argument is three-pronged. You talk about Healthcare industry, Healthy citizen and if provided, you will counter terrorism. Even if you improve healthcare industry, you can not create healthy citizen. How can your healthcare industry make any citizen healthy (healthy and strong are relative terms, depends upon the genetic and hereditary factors). You cannot assume, every healthy person is strong enough to fight terrorism. Even a frail looking personality, like, Gandhi ji, routed the British Regime! Healthcare in rural areas should be focussed upon if we want to create better India, I endorse your views on that! Our immediate attention should be to provide clean drinking water, provide adequate civic amenities, maintain hygiene factors, provide primary healthcare centres with pathology labs, mobile health care vans, etc.

A.I.M.S LIKE INSTITUTION IS ON THE CARDS GOVT IS CONTEMPLATING OF HAVING SUCH TYPE OF INSTITUTIONS WHERE THE CITY POPULATION IS MORE THAN 15LAKHS. REALLY A GOOD NEWS. THE 3P IS ALSO BEING VIEWED BY THEM AS THE NEXT OPTION.

There should be large amount of funds to overcome the deficit in health industry .There are many things which should take place to develop health of people of rural India.Though Indian Govt.has started National Rural health Mission (NRHM)it is not enough. There is lot of corruption in NRHM.It should be stopped first.

Like any other industry Health care and Healthcare education should be decontrolled. The controllers like MCI are making money and looting the country. Like engineering education let there be explosion and the best will survive. Govt wanted to have at least one medical college per district but for reasons best known to them there is no major push towards it. Only when it happens the pvt & Public balance will happen and like all other fields customers will get better quality and choice of services

well MR.ARVIND...your debate could have been more sound if you could provide some techniques as to how the indian government create initiatives to provide quality health care facilities for the people...this initiatives can include various awareness programmes , free-check up camps ,free medicine distributions etc.....
