Loyalty is a very tradiotinal concept, but Chanakya would have us believe otherwise.

Loyalty is a two way street. Employees cannot be loyal without the company reciprocating. Actually it is the other way around. In a "good" company, employees are loyal. Most of them even stay when the company is going through hard times. If the company does not care for anything but the bottom line, employees will also shift to look at their bottom line. After all both have to live.

One of the most common question is attrition but its better for those who quit and join some other organization for better scope in terme of pay hike, location and other benefits. On the other hand loyalty proves an employee is worth trust and handing over major responsibilities in the long run and thus the employee becomes a real asset for the organization serving in.

Loyalty is better in long term. Though it depends that for whom are you working. Jumping jobs is not a solution for anything.
