It has to be talent management. Because in the longer run an organisation will be known by the talent that it retains. More the experience in the talent pool, better will be the ability to ride a downfall in business. Not to forget the time & resources that would be wasted in recruiting, training and establishing such a base. A talent pool will not only help in taking the company places but will also serve as the right mentoring atmosphere for future talent to be nurtured. Imagine a new talent pool everytime - and in moments of crisis when fast and right decisions have to be taken, they would only be wasting time in learning what the predecessor has done rather than take corrective action.

The Talent management otherwise called as Human Capital Management is strategic tool to source, attract, select, train, develop, retain, promote, and move employees through the organization, as it is increasingly more competitive between firms and of strategic importance, has come to be known as "the war for talent."

Thanks for invite Mr Arikrishnan, Tend to disagree on the point that organisational profits do not accrue in isolation and talent management is an essential activity to profits. Therefore it is not correct to put them in "either or" as they are essential to coexist. Hope you agree.

the biggest resource any organisation has is its people. these cogs are the ones that drive the company. nurture the people, profit automatically comes. there have been cases (long ago perhaps), where looking at the state of the company's finances, the workforces have taken a voluntary wage cut.

If an organisation have a pool of talanted people they know they will play a long inning in terms of profit. talanted employees always earns profit for their organisation because they know they have some extra qualties from the other orgainsation which have a shortfall of talanted people. Talanted people find the way of succes in any worst situations. so organisation should maintain talant management as a valuable resource of an organisation.

A talent management system must be worked into the business strategy and implemented in daily processes throughout the company as a whole. It cannot be left solely to the human resources department to attract and retain employees, but rather must be practiced at all levels of the organization. support the talent employees and encourage that its self lead to organizational profit.......

Here, I would like to pin point, if the mgmt. gives target to down size the strength, the HR professionals are targeting new commers irrespect to their talent and capabilities, untill unless he is under support of any top mgmt. This has happened in one of the most powerful financial giant of Mumbai.

According to me money/power should never be the top priority neither for any individual nor for any organization. Its a byproduct of good work. And I believe that if good work is done money/power automatically follows it.this is the basic of life. if just profit making will be the primary target it will drive organization towards achieving profit whether by hook or crook which implys that it may use unethical ways to achieve its target, that will tarnish the image of organization and no one wants to get associate with unethical company, leading to fall of organization due to lack of good talent therefore talent management is important that will ultimately lead any organization towards profit.

Without Employees and their talent Organization cannot exist. That being the case how can they make profits on sustainable basis during the life of the organization? It is rediculas to think that I will make a huge profit at the cost of talent and run the organization. If the people at the helm just want to make a fast buck and run away then yes profit is imortant then the organization dies there. If you manage your talent well then organization grows on its own and makes profits automatically

Talent Management and Organizational Profits are both inextricably linked with each other and hence, both are important. One cannot exist without the other fully, as if profits are generated, it is only through talented individuals working in specific positions that the profit is generated. Further, if Talent Management is done appropriately, then profits are bound to be generated, although not guaranteed.... Thanks for the referral, Natteraja.....

Organizational profits should be the first and foremost priority. A profitable organization not only attracts talented people while retaining talented employees. An organization which does not make profits cannot attract talent but also loses talented employees. If an organization makes profits only then it can think of providing good pay packets, amenities, staff welfare measures, meet the training needs, perks etc. An organization which does not make profits cannot have the wherewithall for all these things. If an organization does not make profits then the organization itself may go into liquidation.

@ Srikanth, Amruta "Organization's profit will achieved after getting right talent." U r Abslutely right but also useless in one sense. right because we need talented people to get proft. useless because if more n more stress is given to talent management then we cant cope with the time limits an organisation is kept by its clients to complete a project and also in this competitive world u could guess what we can expect from a well educated person, profits or else failure of the organisation. @ Srikanth, Amruta "Organization's profit will achieved after getting right talent." Obviously, Organizational profits are the strategic point in every organization to attain one of the vision. Based on the vision of the corporate structure, it intends to exploit the talents to increase the bottom-line.No matter whatever the size be -small, or large - , all organization come into existence to enrich its resources. In the bargain, it plays a role to enhance the talents available. Depending on the type of organization & the vision it has , Organizations tries to achieve the goal. There are organisation , its prime vision is to grow talents & there are organization that use these talents to en cash the return for the capital invested. So, it is the vision set-in decides the role.

Organizations take birth for making profits with out any confusion. Persons are hired to achieve this goal. Target is PROFIT. If pooling/managing TALENT is useful for the growth of the company, that too will be synchronised intelligently.

Ultimately the goal or what should i say the goal to Organizational profits will lead to Talent Management. so if we are talking of a Big Picture, we must always go for a long term goals like this one and a short term goal of Talent Management. Yeah Talent Management is very important and yeah it is a part and parcel of Organisational Profit. Also ppl will say that Talent Management is Humane, Nice, and above all 'slow'(Slowness is a good attribute for doing things right) But still in this competitive world where time is everything and people need to understand that concept as well. Yeah u ppl may critisize me for this but sill time limit and profits were always there to 'speed up', 'Motivate' people for better results. don't u guys agree on this? so i vote for Organisation Profit.
