Well Well.....

Until 4yrs back I was of view there is no difference between USA recruiters & Domestic recruiters it is just that USA recruiters have exposure to International mkt in terms of consultants( called as candidate in India), client, style of working of clients & most importantly MONEY.

In past 6 months or so I have been looking for a change to shift to domestic recruitment due to personal reasons. I have applied to quite a number of staffing agencies however most of them have rejected me because I do not have domestic recruitment in recent yrs( I have 1yr exp in 2004 & since then my exp is in USA staffing). Other reason what I was told is USA staffing is kids job. Wow!! In what way it is a kids job? I really wonder how? However after 6 months & since quite a number of people have told me this I have started believing USA staffing recruiters are lot more better because of following reasons:

  1. We earn lot more better than domestic recruiters: salary, incentives. When I was interviewed my couple of some offered me salary 1.50 lac LESS compared to what I am earning now!!!
  2. We have tough time searching for a right resume, in USA if 2 agencies submit same consultant (candidate) for same position then client suspends both agencies & the candidate forever; so we have to be very very careful while submitting resumes to client we have to make 110 times sure whether consultant (candidate) has been submitted to client by other agency or not.
  3. When I was doing domestic mkt recruitment I saw same candidate is approached my 2 different agencies & candidate agrees to get submitted to client through both agencies just because he has not got any feedback from any agency & hence it is quite possible consultant(candidate) might be going to through n number of agencies this way, I as a recruiter cannot be sure if he(consultant) would be attending the interview through my company or from someone else.
  4. Domestic recruiters use "CTRL+F" to screen resume & many times wrong resume is submitted to client & if client recruiters have patience then feedback on the consultant is "screen reject" which is very rare agencies recruiters waste client time by not screening resume properly.
  5. We USA recruiters spend at least 15 min talking to consultant & we do this at least 3 times (3 different ppl, 1st recruiter, then TL & then AM) If we do not do this & if we submit resume without proper screening there are very strong chances client removing us from their list of agencies / vendors if they find out we have submitted wrong resume. Clients there are very strict they are "Cool" if we do not submit any resume but they certainly do not want resume which are not 100% match.
  6. I have seen domestic recruiters submitting resumes of consultant who is even 75% match.
