In my opinion people will opt for dual fuel cars or Auto LPG, CNG or NG along with petrol. Petrol will be premium segment where as cost minded people will go to CNG or LPG.

In the near future the petrol + CNG and biofuel type is more feasible for India as the power supply is always in the scarcity. The future nuclear power plants are designed to meet basic household and industrial requirements and are not sufficient for automotive consumption

With rising petrol pricesm by the end of this decade, we could see a situation where operating costs of petrol vehicles for a year will be higher than the cost of the vehicle itself. I am sure alternate renewable sources of energy will be used for driving cars. Electric scooters are already a economical option  for short distances to petrol motorbikes however good the mileage they can deliver. But to be economical, the power plants themselves should be run from nuclear fuel and not from  fossil fuels.
