Hi Ted, Given your situation of hiring 1000 installers globally, you could go ahead with a combination of internal training and upskilling of your existing resources along with recruitment large scale and given the fact of the market being loaded with profiles you want, you can get quality personnel at a much lower cost owing to the prevailing economic situation. This is the best time to hire,

Hi Ted....nowadays no one is loyal & it is better to hire new people on the basis of their potential. Any one can switch to other job but there is more probability if you hire a new guy, you will get your space & you can take out the required work......

Ive been in business almost 15 years straight and to be honest , loyalty will get you killed - so to speak, business wise. Listen to a loyal team mate or the outside firm? there is a saying keep your friends close and your enemies closers, here in the great USA. This will tell you people like you very close to stab ya in the back for the position opening, or heck for that matter for the food and money every family depends on. When money enters, lots of things change. When money leaves things change again but quicker. people have sold out morals for money Loyalty has been sold out years back for that which can give you the most for ya buck, all imported via the west. not the wild west, the west. on the other aside of the coin: Where I come from a man is as only as good as his word. love the discussion, keep it going ! let loose folks.

I was one for the last decade that always thought it was better to take people who did not know a thing, and teach the business. After the last 20 engineers, VP anbd executives migrated over the last decade to fortune 500 firms, we are revamping out group and wanting to fill those gaps as soon as possible. We have seen exployees use work mainly for stepping stools into ather jobs abd carriers and even employees who learn the field well enoguth to become competition. The last year changed allot of things in the way we see things. I now hire experianced only, and prefer people with some type of histroy and good job history. This means thye will possible stay around after investing millions into training every year, which reduces cost of operations, and using temps allows you to kinda beta test the employee for the job , without any commitment. Spoke to temps who also see temp as the new way to get inserted into job with no commitment for long term and most temp agencies can custom build training material and testing material to filter out those incapable of certain tasks. They also have more time to build a personality profile on the temp, which as many of you know, personality goes a long way in expanding any career, anywhere. So do you choose new staff or skilled (used) staff?
