After the 26/11 attacks on mumbai, pakistan government decided not to send their players to play in second-season of IPL due to tension between the two countries but when it was decided to shift the IPL to south africa,Pakistan cricket board convince their government to allow the players to play in the lucrative premier league. And when PCB approached BCCI and IPL organising committee to allow their players to play in the league, lalit modi refused to allow pakistan players to play in the league.

So what do you think who was wrong in all this drama-Pakistan government reluctance to send their players for IPL or Lalit Modi ego for not allowing pakistan players to play in IPL.

Dear Mr. Dayanand,

"They should not have mixed sports with tenson between two countries" A very idealistic or non-realistic statement.

In an environment, when players stake their everything for national pride, where patriotic feelings give rise to interest game, where nation gets united to cheer a country team, how U can keep "Sport" and "tension between two countries" separate. And it is not "tension between two countries". It is "tension created by one country for another".

If Pakistan players would have played IPL, they would have given message to entire world, that India has forgotten the pain of 26/11. It is all well now. Sight of Pakistan player would have been reminder to all indians, that for we people, cricket and money is more important than pains of our own people.

Secondly, Pakistan politicians are far ahead than Indian in opportunism. Moment IPL is over, they would have made this a proof that, now Indo-Pak relations are normal and we should start talks immediately. Pakistan itself is in habit of mixing "sport" with politics and many other things. Their President enters India to watch match. After coming here, starts giving statements on Kashmir and starts garnering attention of media.

Thirdly, Pakistan should realise that, when they allow the sports to be hijacked by militants in their own country, this is the price to pay. This is their hard-earned humilation/insult.

I agree with pakistan government now as posted by Mr. dayanand also. lalit modi has been after money only. and he didnt care about bilateral relations. Now also India-pak are trying to build relations. you cant build a relation just like that and of your eighbour is like pak, you have to learn to live with them too. For how long can you neglect them.

I would say that initially Pak government was on the wrong side as they should not have mixed sports with the tension between the two countries. It was because of this reason only that these two cricketing nations were not playing with each other from years. But i think that Lalit modi is also somewhat wrong as he should not have allowed his ego to come in the way when it comes to organising a tournament of such a global scale.Pakistan players are top-class players and they should not be isolated from the rest of the cricketing playing nations.

How convenient it is to blame the government.. There are flaws in government and then there were always flaws there.. now we can see them clearly because many people are coming up and giving voice to the wrong practices..
It is a wonderful concept but we need a right plan to follow it. Just an idea wont help.
