It is neither immoral nor illegal unless one can prove them to be forced conversions. Whatever be the reason, it is a fact, except in the case of Mizoram every other state of North Eastern India has witnessed increase (marginal to drastic) in Christian percentage of population, which cannot be attributed to the natural population growth. If Hindus wish this trend to be reversed they should learn the Strategies & Tactics adapted by the Christian Missionaries and practice the same, instead of crying wolf.

Innoreder to uplift the society an independent organisation without having any connection with relegious objects can be formed, if so its real object is true upliftment of the lower class in the society otherwise it will be for the influence of the relegious activity.

immoral or not is based on the prespective to the one who has taken a new religion from some other religion. its true that many congregations give monetary benifits to the needy. For this NEEDY, hunger takes a much higher priority than religion. If monetary support brainwashes them to convert....so be it as there is no other person to help this NEEDY MAN. its very easy to say conversion is immoral... but if it helps him live.. its OK The religion conversion stories are quite abundant in India.. especially in the eastern territories. Dont know whether this perpetuator has a target to achive for more fund or some other reason.. but the camouflage is social work or brute force

Smitha, , I b’live all of us irrespective region, religion r Indians. I oppose any kind of extremism coming from any section of the society… Hindu, Muslim or Christian, there exist fundamentalism, extremism in every community, and it has nothing to do with the faith and philosophy, let’s face it, the story is same, methodology differs.. It is just a debate, let’s keep it that way.. we shud be able to discuss/ opose it etc.. pl . lets' not get the Mother into this..

When I was in Hyderabad, I heard of it a lot. There was a lady who was divorced and used to run a little pan shop. Her shop was burnt and the next day some people from Baptist church came and asked her to convert and offered her 60,000. They asked her to convert her children too and warned her that her shop was burnt because she kept bloody idols of Shiva and Lakshmi. We employees din't have so much of money to offer, but we did a little amount. She later told us she still kept the idols hidden behind the Christian idols. This is what I have seen..I can never forget. I understand there are many instances.

This is so unfortunate and Sad. People can even trade religion. The british have oppressed Indians for 300 years and industrialized Europe. and now their welwishers are backstabing the own people..and in exchange of money to poor they are trading their religion. I do help my own poor countryment in small way with whatever I have and I am proud of my religion that tells me not to trade their religion in exchange of money. Allmighty is powerful..And I will tell them who are in pain because of this "Religion Trade"...Please do not feel bad..Please do not worry..Please do not be afraid...Allmighty will take care. Suji, Don't feel bad..there will be people who loves to score points by personal attack and still call them Higher EQ. LOL. Anyways..

Mr. Makrand and others , I know and understand what sort of post i have put. a quick look at this site would help you understand this. http://www.christianaggression.org Ms. Delson, yes they ask directly in schools to convert. but it starts indirectly when they call first to clean church and check whether u r showing some interest. then they tell one final day, you convert, we will provide you new name, this much scholarship, worldwide network and whole lot. you may say its irrelevant for professional site but thats what i mean in the long run its your identity that counts. We had conversions since ages from Hindu to jain, Buddhist, but all of them were of same culture we grew with it.. But now something is happening thats not our identity. We had dayanand saraswati proclaiming in his satyartha prakash against murti puja or idol worship, thats also part of Hindu culture, we had vivekanand and ramkrishna paramhansa, worshipping idol of Kali, that was also Hinduism.. Diversity is what we love but soft are we, and so we Hindus are attacked with such questions of irrelevance whenever we raise question of religion among ourseleves.. Finally answering to some argument that why still population is low of christians in India, friend i am talking about three regions only south hilly and NorthEast. and you can easily see how the population is growing there.. and yes these christian evangelists are not fool like other extremist, they take soft approach and try to enter slowly.

It is not only immoral it is illegal as per Indian Constitution, you are free to choose your religion but you shall not be forced or influenced by any factors to get converted to other relegion. If such activities are taking place any where in India you have every right to object it before any constitutional courts. Indians are predominently Hindus, other communities are more interested in converting Indian Hindus to their relegion. For this lot of funds from foreign countries are very oftenly flow in to India.

Yes It is immoral, Rather than uplifting the society, they have sole reason to increase population of their own religion in India.
Indian Hindus have very rich culture, these christians are turning those Hindus to follow their own culture.

Dear Ms. Priya, Am not using the name of Mother Teresa. By stating her name i only wanted to tell how she worked for the upliftment of the society... by helping nd caring the needy irrespective of caste nd creed. You said: if u r reaally into social work u must uplift people and leave at that. . but.. It was just an answer to the statement you made... But I think You took the another way. I know to respect others.

Is there a difference between Indian Hindus and other Hindus. The culture you are talking about is because in the past I think people were more responsible. One day in the future u and I will also be talked about in the past tense and then I hope that we have enough good and rich things to be spoken of.

Firstly this whole issue is overrated and propagated by people who obviously have a lot of free time. We as INDIANS have the right to practice any religion not because it is right in some people's eyes but because it gives us a source of inner peace, strength and belonging. Differences between religions are made by people with ulterior motives and something to gain. As far as forced conversions is concerned although i have heard of it i have not witnessed it, but i do believe that if a person can find a sense of belonging, moral support or peace whichever the religion why should anyone else have a problem. If any person/community feels that there is an issue they should have the guts to do something constructive about it. Make sure you are able to convince those who are being done injustice about the wrongs not through violence but dialogue and let them choose. From the posts of those who think this topic is immoral I have only to say get rid of your insecurities and concentrate on taking INDIA forward not backwards.

We are a democratic and secular country. Every citizen has got a right to choose the way of life he/she wants and no one else got any right to object it unless he has his rights taken away. I was born Hindu and not by choice.Since I am secular due to the culture I have brought up and I respect all religious and their right to practice as they want without disturbing others rights. Any one born on any religion has got the right to change his religion as he wishes and no one has got any right to object it. HENCE IT IS LEGAL AND MORALLY RIGHT TO ANY ONE TO CONVERT TO HIS OR HER RELIGION OF THEIR CHOICE. WHY OTHERS OBJECT TO IT?

I feel sorry for you Sujith you have gained Knowledge from IIM but don't have wisdom . Have you ever taken upon your self to to find out what is the percentage of population in christians in India as a whole? I Think you should do that. If it was forced conversion as you claim India was under British raj 250 yrs India should have been a Christian country .Well in your definition reaching the unreached and providing them Health care sanitation , scholarship for education and vocational training to support themselves and live with dignity is force yes christian are converting by force . Force of love and compassion.
