Why concept of green house is not getting momentum in India ?

I think availability and affordability is the main reason. If an affordable Green House is available easily every one may come forward to have it .For example, if we talk about  construction materials - Bricks ( adding dead load ) are available in abundance accordingly are being used by common men even without debate on the contrary Hollow concrete blocks ( Lighter in weight, better thermal values) not generally locally available are less in use and are being accepted with a doubt in mind.

While producing Bricks - a lot of valuable Earth as clay is being used.A lot of heat is required for producing the stronger and quality Bricks.Good quantity of misshaped and over burnt  bricks and other residual is left to add as waste.

While producing Hollow Blocks -  Aggregate / gravel may be obtained from the waste broken stones, Fly ash (a waste from power plants) with cement may be remoulded without any external heat (some negligible  heat by cement -water reaction will be produced). 

These aspects are to accounted for choosing the materials even for a normal house.  

Yes to some extent awareness is also one of the reasons .How the awareness be created and who is responsible for that is again a matter of debate.

In my view, the main reason of its not becoming popular in India is lack of awareness among the people. Unless they know the benefits of green house, how can we dream of them ? Benifits of Green house should be propagated and people should be educated about it...
