I agree to Mr. Muralidharan here. No one needs reservation. The sides given are really unacceptable to me. I don't know what should I say...

Women dont need reservation although just for political reasons some parties say so. To win vote they create a picture of women ruined over centuries and after hearing this any heart can turn into butter and he/she will support for the bill, that makes them win some votes. But reality is different. Our society has always has a position for women not only as a person in the house playing roles of mother,wife,sister,etc. but also from centuries women used to work outside their homes also.Eg.-In teacher profession there more female teachers then gents teacher, Lady Doctor always a women,first governor of u.p. Mrs. Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi first Lady prime minister and glory keeps going

No, women don't need any reservation at any place as they are reserved as mother , wife , sister etc . Except all this they have the talent which do not need the reservation support . Women have her own place every where in ones life from begning to end.

Piyush seems to be advocating for women? really they do not need reservation at all, they have much potential and built in talent to fight competition unless it is more physical oriented, they are blessed more or better than men by nature and god?? yes it would be done one day in our country, reservation on the basis of caste, creed, gender....? no wonder, ask women what they need? i think they need compassion and care more than the competition and compensation?

when our society will completely accept the women equal to men, then we can say that we dont need reservation. i think we all know very well the curent condition of indian women. At the moment we need to support them to face this professional world and need to assist them to succeed in current life situations.

Who says NO if we give something for a discounted price, same case applies here. I hope there are women who does not want to depend on the reservations, for that group there should be a option to opt out so that the needy can get a change.

I am not sure the statements are fair. Women have been handicapped by various social considerations. The girl children are still discriminated in most families, and at work, women are often stereotyped in certain roles. The husbands expect them to leave work to take care of the baby, setting their careers back by five years or so. Reservations only make this competition slightly more fair - I don't see why anyone should complain about this.

The topic has never been initiated by women. It is politically influenced and the traditional MEN of the society never wanted women to come up and should remain in GHOONGHAT/ Parda with their limited to kitchen, household and bed. At the same time the politicians in India have engraved the wound to keep alive and bleeding for their vote banks. In fact what I, rather the whole world can see that women in India are much ahead of women elsewhere in the world regardless of any walk of the profession or society. Here, it would not be out of place to mention that even the women leaders who are ahead of the march in favor of 'Women reservation' are also for political hunger and socialization in the society for their better prospects in politics. I don't think that the % of women in India is lower than any other country in the world. Here, in my suggestion the sex differences must be banned and automatically the respectable women of India would be in a position to come to main stream of the society.

If at all, do we need 'RESERVATION' - forget about gender? Rather than allowing them to have a permanent blot as "Reserved Category" why can't we work to develop their skill, develop competitive edge in them, then give them more chance to succeed, rather than allowing the reservations!

Well i would like to know from you all my friends and others out here. As to why women need reservation. When they say that they can walk smartly equivalent to their male counter parts and they competent then why do they need reservation . It actually is a question mark they don't have the ability to compete for the same . Because any one can provide good society and living once they are at a position and hardship is involved in getting that position.. What about that ?...... After acceptance of this bill they themselves have proved that they are in competent.. Lets see what you all say....

Neelima,They can fight competition. They need support in the form of Reservation in certain areas, where it will take little time to establish themselves. So that  time bound Reservation will help them to consolidate their position & establish themselves.

Reservations result in taking away the competitive spirit from the reserved class of people.  One can see the result of the reservations for the other classes over the decades.  One finds more and more demands coming from different sect/class of people to be given reservations.  There is no reservations by caste, creed or religion.  Still one can find Obamas, Arthur Ashes, Navartilovas, Martin Luther kings etc rising up in the competitive world.  Reservation results in mediocrity of those classes and kills the competitive spirit.
