I don't think it has anything to do with Indian politics, it has mainly to do with Indians interest in the game, there is very less interest about football game, and its always cricket here, which turns the heads and every youngster wants to be a cricketer and not anything less than that.......if there was considerable interest, by this time any corporate organization would have taken the pains of getting a great coach and everything related to football the best of infrastructure in India, but that is not the case as Football has very less fans in India.

because Govt done coodinate in the development of football, like Indian U-23 team, Indian arrows dont have sponsor. :(

politics and the sports ministry to give more importance to the sports and games in totality.More over the private players who can make money spend more on sponsorship on cricket than in other games. Our people are capable to take anything but the will in them is killed by the poor initiatives by our state government and the other authorities who have to give it a equal importance. The games are meant for group dynamism's growth of sportsman ship and build leadership qualities in young men and women.The games should not be looked into it as amoney spinning tool.even the schools or educational institutions do not give much care to this important team building tool- the team games like football,hockey and so on. hence politics is the key player in not being able to promote from the grass roots level across the youth.

from the last 10 years we have only 1 player called.bhutiya....we ned to produce more 10 or 15 to make a team. so i think by 2151 we will definately be able to compete!!

Everybody know that hockey is our national game,can we state the rank of indian hockey atpresent,sportsmen is selected with the help of individual talent but indian sports is fully of recommendation,can we count no of cricket grounds in india its huge,but we can easily count no of football grounds in india

Indian peoples are very crazy about the cricket and they think about the cricket. They do not have any time to think about any other sport even their national game hockey so how we think that India could form a football team world cup

Neelima, Thanks for the referral, I would like to support and oppose you. It is wrong that Indians are following cricket only. we became a cricket crazy nation recently may be after our World cup win and most probably because of our sachin. Foot ball is as popular as cricket at least in rural india. Are you thinking that BCCI is promoting cricket in the best interest of Indian cricket. I dont think so.

It is imoprtant to free our sports federations to make free from political interference if any our sports to make an impact on International arena, So many things to write, but I dont like to make a lengthy debate.

Politics has nthing to do with it,To blame politcs would be something,Expecting Showers in desert,It seems that indians dont have interest towarfd football,Even we cant blame Cricket has exploited football's fate.So intrest has to be culminated amongst the people of india..
