Politics is the ruler in India, even more than the Government itself. Our 'democracy' is only in constitutional and judicial level, it doesn't reflect in the society or anywhere else. We are in the 'reign of politics', which is causing harm in our society, economy etc.

Its we people who are responsible for this state. Everyone of us should realize and correct ourselves in many things. Instead of blaming the politics we can try to change it by our contribution to it.....

Politics: because, it din't directly refer to the politicians our country have. Every where in India in each n every aspect there is a lot of political involvement. That is because of several things, People says- Aaj log apni Dukh se jiyaada Dusre ki Khushiyon ko dekh kar dukhi hote hain. Selfishness n many more feelings led to such result.
Need some comments on my feelings or words. Please....

Politics and our own laid back attitude are the reasons to be blamed. As individuals we get satisfied quickly in life. For different people it ranges from a job to owning a car to a house etc. Our lack of ambition and soft approach leads us to a stagnant life unlike the japs or israelis who have recovered from near genocides. The will to succeed has been blunted further by our (un)able politicians (pun intended ) who saw a dormant population a good measure to further their own ambitions.

Both politics and us Indians are responsible for the disasters w perpetrate. We still have backward, regressive, pathetic mindsets. I know people who still believe in Machiavelli and Chanakya, when these practices should be banned and buried. By

Because personal development of politicians has yet not reached the saturation point. Let them develop themselves first, India has to take backseat and will have to wait till then.

There are no YES or No solutions in life. By and large policy formulations which creates right ambiance for developmental process.
A controlled policy in the first four decades after independence stiff led our growth. It is only after liberalization in early 1990's opened our economy for growth and we all have seen what it can bring in.
Work force depending on Agriculture has to be drastically reduced. And that means through education and vocational training, a new work force with skills required in the Industry has to be created and identify and develop entrepreneurs to start small and medium enterprises in Manufacturing and Services.
We seem to be on right track but for the politicians and Bureaucracy and landlords in the rural areas who have to adopt themselves to the changing needs of our society in transformation.
Indian pathos will not allow the situation for Neither French revolution nor Russian revolution to spring up for course correction in our development.
Thanks Mr.Venkat. Don't blame only politics or Politicians Its we the Indians made it worst. Before the British rule, Indians were in Golden age don't forget!!!!!!!.

Shankaran Indian political ideology is tantamount to carrying a dead body. . From time immemorial we have been talking of various reforms, proper exploitation of natural resources. But the saddest point is that money allocated for various infrastructure development has been siphoned by the corrupted politicians and other bureaucrats. One thing i s certain that these corrupted politicians know and learn t in the last so many years the art of exploitation of people rather than the resources. Here i would like to add the so called ECONOMIC PARADOX which goes on to say that what is true for one individual need not true for the economy as a whole. And the Arrow 's theory of IMPOSSIBILITY HOLDS GOOD AT PRESENT. (I.E) ONE WILL B BETTER OFF BY MAKING OTHERS WORSENING OFF.

Its basically politics which eluded us. As a nation, we choose socialistic approach. Our leaders choose to provide us a group of kings, instead of a single king to rule and take decisions. We as people, we choose the then king of respective states to be the Member of Parliament/Assembly of the Nation/State. Socialism puts more responsibility on the Govt. to develop the nation. Kings/Royals were never astute on Trade and Commerce to develop the nation. India actually never took the responsible policy making except for few our National Leaders, which saw us the light of today. Its only now that we seek responsibility from our policy makers. Its only now that so many seems interested in Trade and commerce of the country. Its only now that we want answers on tax payers money. Earlier, we not even believed in this money. So you may say its us Indians but its as such the politics of our country.
They want to rule the group of people, society, religion, for there benefit. Otherwise why people are not able to come of the trap of 'reservation' even after 60 years and even many politicians are forcing to widen the cast's list and extend the reservations? Politicians want to maintain there vote bank to get elected/popularity. If all people are developed, who will vote for them? Educated people registered/contributing there thought on web are not certainly voting. And thats the reason India is still DEVELOPING nation.

In my view is "SELF-SERVICING", is excessively more important to most Indians. And for this reason country may be lagging, individuals are seen flourishing to be richest individuals in world.
We cant always go on blaming the politicians for every thing, after all they come from among us. they are not different form us. We choose them (?).
But anyways it is good to be developing. What next if we are fully developed, would we also get in race for the control of oil and other resources and corrupt other developing countries?

We dont have the proper work culture. We are more interested in self. We are ready to kill the organisation for selfish gains. We often ready to go on strike, a negative approach. We need to develop a positive approach as Japanese do. We dont have the commitment towards the national development and ready to work for others for personal gains.
We passionately talk about Unity in diversity. This is a good slogan undoubtedly. I never find any unity in these diversities. We rarely find an Indian altogether. We are blind enough to identify ourselves on caste, religion, regional terms. We have Bal Thakres (Maharashtra), Chandrasekhara Raos (TRS Chief, Andhra Pradesh), fundamentalist groups and parties for abetting us on these terms making us to fight each other on these tapered lines.
Our "CHALTA HAI" attitude has kept us moving sluggishly. We often choose to turn our eyes blind to any burning issue. Some how I feel, our countrymen lack vigour to move ahead. We accept the things as they are coming. And this has kept us in the list of the countries of Third World.
Shankaran I think you are to the point. I would like to add here that basic education is also a factor since 60 years back we were a third world country with maximum illitrate or uneducated people so tell me how India will devlop?
At that point of time there were only two class of people i.e. rich or poor. The rich were educated and that too mostly from UK and the poor were strugleing hard to earn two square meals every day.
Now the situation has changed and all our friends in the country are responsible.
I am of the openion within next 10 years we will be declared as a devloped nation if not earlier.

Politicians are a product of the society and not the other way round. Most of us resort to corrupt practices like bribes for personal gains and then bemoan about the system. If the society is right, the politicians will be left with no other option.
I dont mean to say that all of us are corrupt. The majority still prefers to abide by the rules. But this majority is silent, disorganised and frustrated. The key to bring about a change is to tap this silent power of the majority. Then we can really call ourselves a democracy.
Now our power to choose is limited to the election of our representatives. But the system gives no guarantee whether these representatives will really represent us.
I'm of the opinion that we should have a permanent system to vote for important policies and rules via IT enabled systems probably using the UID card. Its a sort of direct democracy. This system should also have provisions for anonymous reporting of corrupt practices of leaders.

There are many factors why because we are still a developing country. The early system of cast and cast wise job is one of the main factor. Due to cast wise job, education could never reach in many community . Even though we got freedom from British rule, we are still caught with religions, systems and slavery. Until we achieve at least 75% literacy and and freedom form the slavery of cast and community, we will never be able to become developed county. There are many other factors are involved but will reveal in another occasion.

The mindset of the people should focus on developing oneself and helping others to also develop. This will ensure all round growth and empowerment of the people.
If on the other hand, the focus is only on individual gain at the expense of others, then growth will be limited. India is on the road to becoming a developed nation in the future.....

It is not the politics of the country but the Indian people who are responsible for the developing Country status of India. It is the Indian people only who fought for the independence of India. Today, after sixty years of independence India is not a backward country but rated by Washington as "the third most powerful country in the world after the U.S. and China and the fourth most powerful bloc after the U.S., China and the European Union" in a new official U.S. report submitted recently. Indian should be proud of this current status the country has acquired. Indian can be on top of the world if Indian change the dirty habit of corruption and spread education to the most backward region of the country. Even China is a developing country inspite of the status of no.2 in the world by the above rating. It is because of the vastness of both India and China where a large population are living in the remote villages where the tools of development have not reached in depth. Let us change our mindset and change one of our downtrodden brothers or sisters in the remote places as more enlightened. We would see that by 2025 China may envy India because in democracy growth prospers with stability and goes to the deep roots carried by the enterprising masses.
