It is not written somewhere that every Toostep member shoud have a Linkedin account, or the person who dont have linkedin account is not allowed for toostep...TOOSTEP is open for every one, who has something good to share. I too have account in Toostep, Linkedin, Facebook, Skype,Gmail, Rediff, Yahoo,Hotmail,Tagged, HI5 and so on...

There is someone by name CV Library on LinkedIn - Is He / She / ?? real or fake? What do u have to say Mr. Sujit. Generalizations (taht too sweeping) should be made only when you have hands on info to the lowest level of detail http://www.linkedin.com/pub/cv-library/13/7ba/1a5

I appreciated devi's question asking why a thumbs down was given. I was given a thumbs down too. I have not received many in this platform. Sujit is right when he says that he gave thumbs down because he did not like the argument. But he could have just said that much. In any case Devi - your question appears to have made sujit ultra active on too step. My mailbox is now crowded with sujit's references and questions. My request is that let us confine this platform for intellectual exchange of views and arguments. We need to maintain a standard.

Dear Sujit, You are loosing the woods for the trees and also the fact that you have not got my point is pretty clear from your statements. Anyways let me tell you that still your snail mail has got all the relevance as compared to your EMail, because your call letter as well as your admit card for your PGP course were all received by snail mail and so also your other documents like you PAN Card, Driving License etc... You cannot get a gas connection unless and until you have a postal address that is exactly what snail mail stands for. Now coming to you argument about Cell Phone number then let me tell you that all Organisation worth its salt ask for refernces for back ground check , your cell phone number doesnot stand as a proof for your background. To explain you in simple english it is not manadatory, necessary to have an id in a particular networking site so as to have greater credibility and the reference to great personality was meant to proove that its your work that makes the people to sit up and take a note not having an particular ID which can be an assumed one as well.

Already a lot has been written about this argument, just wanted to know that is our existence as well as our credibility linked to linkedIn If anyones answer is yes then let him/her go back and ask his forefathers that did they have Linkedin ID or for that matter did Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Swami Vivekananda had this ID if they didnot then do we presume/assume that they were all fakes. If having an ID stands for your existence then anyone can have that.

Nice questions ms. Devi Fifth question are the people with LinkedIn Accounts in a popularity contest? Sorry I am popular enough in my own way don’t need LinkedIn for that. I really like this question. You know how popular we are.. Do you remember the poll in Facebook???

SUJIT, Can you give me one good reason why you give me a thumbs down. You put up a debate and members are putting up their arguments. I put up mine so what is your problem. By the way I do have a LinkedIn Account and there are members in this debate who is aware of it. Further I am not a fake I have a true identity and even that members here can attest to.

Sujit, point noted, in future if you don’t like an argument you must state your reasons, especially a debate that you put up. I believe this is the way it should be. You know what, I probably did not put up the right argument the first time, so I will do so now. First question, who cares if President Obama and Palin have LinkedIn accounts? Why did you not make reference to some high profile people in India or any other country for that matter? Second question, if the quality of profiles displayed at LinkedIn are much better than Toostep, then why don’t you stick to that site? Third question, what credentials you possess to determine that people on Toostep with a minimum of 5 years experience and don’t have LinkedIn Accounts have something to hide? This definitely has to be your feeling only. Fourth question, why did you not communicate with the Toostep members in their inbox to find out if they have a LinkedIn Account.? Further, how do you know they will want to add you to their connections list? Fifth question are the people with LinkedIn Accounts in a popularity contest? Sorry I am popular enough in my own way don’t need LinkedIn for that. Sixth question, How do you know everyone on LinkedIn are real? I personally have not visit my page at LinkedIn for days now because I don't really like it. You stick to your views and I will live with mine. End of the matter.

I think US administration has still not started issuing social security numbers, visas and green cards based on a person's existance of LinkedIn account as proof of Identity. Unfortunately in the world there are far more many people with work experience greater than 5 years and not having LinkedIn - Oh my Gosh so many Fake in this beautiful world?

I agree with Mr.Shaju George. Who knows, Osama too may be having his own LinkedIn account. :) [Just a funny thought that came across my mind] suppose it happens can we consider that all the linkedIn users (Of course, Including me) could we consider them as terrorists??!! :)

Hi Sujit, Do you think that since Obama is travelling in Air Force-1 all others should try to do the same? It just the personal convenience of each individual to decide whether to join a community or not.. I have a linkedIn account, but I don't think that is more than everything in life. Regards, Shaju

Thank you Mr.Makrand. The idea of this kind of wesite is very simple. The main aim is to make a collective pool of professionals and make them to share their interests, knowledge and opportunities available. At this point of economic recession, this kind of websites will be useful to both job seekers and talent seekers. So the point of faking is absolutely making no sense.

Thanks Siva!! I find that when professionals who keep such a platform like toostep clean and running, authentication is not a necessity. I would take each and everyone of you on the value that you permeate through your thoughts and ideas that you scribble here! I believe in you all completely and further state that all people on this platform are absolutely true and are hard working professionals who are eager to share and learn! Thank you :))

Hey friends.. Lets keep this discussion as cool as possible.. Mr. Sujit if a person having more than 5 years experience and doesn't have an LinkedIn account, it doesn't mean that he is hiding some thing. Some may feel its un necessary, some may have problem in accessing and some may not have known of LinkedIn. LinkedIn is just another website which uses a email login and password facility meant mostly for professionals. I can pose myself as a 10 year experienced professional and create a page for me in LinkedIn. So LinkedIn is not an authenticator for a professional and his experience on that.

I agree with Devi's comment here and so what if Obama is having a Linkedin account or Sarah palin, who cares, just to authenticate yourself it is not necessary that one should have Linkedin account...i can rephrase the question for you..."Why many linkedin members are not part of Toostep"???, i think toostep is somewhat bigger in India than linkedin in its own way as here you get genuine interaction with genuine professionals....and its just not mere socializing...

The interaction on toostep is REAL in terms of the people and their ideas and thoughts neing put across to IDEATE, Q&A, Debates etc. It helps to read these thoughts and create your own thought process that would be read by the same people. There is a process here and you know you are pitted with experts on too step. LinkedIn, TWITTER, FAcebook are SOCIAL platforms and I think it ends there. The distinction that toostep has achieved is that you are dealing with people and assesing them sectretly on the basis of their capabilities alone. Its difficult and exciting because you do not know the person typing his thoughts on the keyboard furiously! I am all for toostep.com!

I joined in Linkedin yesterday only as one of my HR friend suggested me to try it..

Most of the users from Limkedin are moving to toostep. The reason could be linkedin has not shown that valuable to its members. Toostep's model made Linkedin a bit less attractive in its ease of use as well as establishing the network.

When somebody does not login to toostep using his.her linkedin account, it doen not mean that they do not have a linkedin account. Most of them would like to keep their linkedin account unique and wouldn't get connected to any other account with it. Also when toostep can be integrated with othe accounts like facebook, twitter etc..... people would just go for whichever account they are comfortable to integrate with. Regards, Anna George. This point raised is a very valid point. But, It would be good if people Keep discussing thir personal feeling about negative votes and all in other topics. Someone had suggested it also some time back but i see that post not here now. I found toostep as a good place to discuss personal things . It is like evening spent in village where we ladies speak whaever we want about other people.
