we have come a long way introducing lot of items as comforts and now exploring ways to make it green it is late but better late than never we need to conserve our land and environment to stay afloat.Countries like USA use a lot of timber but they have very strong regulations on tree cutting. they get all the timber from abroad (somebodys forest ,comfort for USA),they are clever .when brazillian rain forests started affecting Climate in USA ,they sarted forcing them to conserve it(comfort of USA) So all these countries are intersested in selling their cars /mobiles etc to india since we are a great market. they care less whether we go to become another ehiopia. its our duty to sensibly cionserve our environment.nobody will come to our rescue(or our next generations rescue) if we think only of our Comfort now. It may look hard/funny now but situations will come when the elasicity is gone beyond reversibility

we have been all along seeing immediate comfort induvidually and today at a stage where we are unable to widen roads(where roads are widened trees are cut!) unable to provide parking areas Also the time taken to travel a 10 km distance say in bangalore is 0ne hour!! How can we mitigate this with cars?

Sorry, I travel 60 kms a day and I have health problems when in dusty or rainy situations. Cycle cant replace my car. But if cycling was possible save a lot of money and walk that distance its a good exercise.

Ya, Ecycles are in many forms , just google it with Elektrik-Fahrad and so on. In Germany its a way more used for Police patrolling and exhibition rounding machines and in big R & D buildings and production shop floors. They are very costly if they have to be completely silent and there also pedal and battery ( A kinda hybrid ones) but extremely costly. 3500 Euros for each bicycle. So for the same price one can buy 2 NANO cars, but pollution is criteria here , but its also a invest and harvest sort of Human Environment. Equation is simple , just because Maruthi is available cheaper compared to Benz , not every body bought maruthi. ...Ecycle will not help you when it rains. Ecycles will and might increase theft tendency if no proper parking are provided. One has to put extreme pain of peddalling if the motor burns of or gives any problem. ....just anything of only one thing may not get us to something.

Thanks for voting me thumbs down Mr. Charles, ya it has been so many problems and you still think if everybody takes a bicycle, all will get their respective parking lots !!! :) Waw...It reminds me of my school days when we all had one-one bicycle each and the parking lot used to be so full that we were compelled to park them under sunlight.....Also, the distance which takes from home to office, a man will be under sunlight with sweat flowing from his forehead.....Nice thinking sir....Accept the fact, no matter whatever vehicle you take, there will be some deficiency in parking lots since population is more and if not for widening the streets, then for buildings, trees will be cut because population is increasing. Merely taking cycle won't make any difference rather will multiply it. How many days would you drive a bicycle and what about an unhealthy person who is not able to bear the exposure of sun ???

I agree with Mr. Nijagunaradhya. Normally people prefer comfort more in today's date. So, They will preferably opt for Electric Cars. Normally people prefer cycles more than cars because of the increasing rate of oil day by day. By the introduction of this technology, where both are running on electricity, people will see which one is more comfortable and fashionable and thus Electric cars will win the race...
