yes it will be a bigger challenge, but changing the sudden environment from attrition to talent retention will be huge. It will a huge task to change the minset of the people especially when they are getting offers from the industry with a better pay and better role. however this was expected so, the HR should be geared up by now to take on this challenge.

Yes - when attrition occurs then the key talent always gets unsettled and looks around. Invariably they can move and do move so that they do not live in an uncertain environment. Key talent always looks for or creates the environment in which they want to exist and thrive. This means that during times of the attrition the company achieves what it does not want - it lowers its corporate IQ because the talent that "cannot move" stays and the talent which is key talent, and has the options, goes to the highest bidder!

Yeah! I completely agree and this is going to be a great challenge for any of the organizations. This has been a key factor for employees leaving the organizations. Better way for the organizations is to asses an employee for their capabalities and provide them good challenging role and the required package, instead of leaving your best employees and finding out a new talent, which will always be risky. You cannot judge whether the new employee can perfrom better or atleast up to the mark of the old employee. Hence, it would be better for organization to retain their best employees to get the best results and to be competing with other organizations.

This is form a HR perpective, Dont ou think that thsi not a good idea, untill unless the contract should be both sided. To bind a person for 2-4 yrs under contacrt and restrict him to work under contract, with same salary, or very low percentage of hike, If Both party are agree in a better solution that hike or other perk will also be increase in same manner, the idea of contacrt is good, other wise this not good form employee perpective. You sing a bind from employee that he can not leave and lets assumed he sign, and by chance there is another slow down in the market you will fire him. So it not easy to decide that contratc is a good idea to retain people. Give the employee opportunity, and reasonable hike thet it is good. employee look for other only when they get better opprtunity then the current and if other can give why not give the same in current company itself.

Yes..It will be a big challenge for Employers to retain key talent. Due to recession the employees couldn't get salary hike in 2009. And now they are looking for both position as well as money. Many of the employees are leaving their current companies and joining the other companies which are giving them good position and salary also.

yes. it is going tobe a challenge not only for IT for any manufacturing companys as well. IT is more. pl see the results every quarter, and it is noting " technically wrong" in expectation. But how long? it is always better to give the right candidate the challelnging job and salary expected. if you see the nmebr of Engg colleges, number of student passed, only creams are taken by IT or related field. HR proffessional are also the same. best way is identify tehindividual, discuss teh career plan and pay what you can. But in the current scenerio, it is difficult question to answer.
