Nothing much is happening in this community from last few days. I guess people are quite busy with IPL schedule ;)))))....Anyways, let me tinker it....

I was just going through different news channels, websites etc. Most of the media houses, internet sites are making money out of this issue. Every where people are talking about how SRK & his tantrums are bringing downfall to his image & brand.......

SRK’s charisma, tact and PR skills are no more required for his IPL KKR team. This is what Fans around India think. After reading interesting views in different sites, I feel Fans of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders seem to be a happy lot when they came to know that Shah Rukh Khan may sell the team and move on.

King Khan denied that he is in talks with other business houses for sale of his team, but Fans around India think that it would be a "wise" decision for SRK & congratulated him in different forums with floods of msgs.........

One fan from Kolkata says: "We Kolkata fans are here for dada and only dada. I'm quite happy you are planning to sell your team. Thank god, we will get someone who knows what cricket is all about and not one who is just after the moolah.

Sundaram, a KKR fan from Chennai, said SRK could not do just about anything with his team as he had to answer his fan base, which is the largest stakeholder in the team.

Another KKR fan had this to say. "Dada will live forever as the undisputed prince. You (SRK) call yourself baadshah, well dada is known as prince by his fans. It's not self-proclaimatory."

One fan, who identified himself as The Boss C, said the Knight Riders team management had come up with "illogical cricket theories" to get media attention. Moreover, they had also insulted "one of our gods of cricket" Sunil Gavaskar and "played with our emotion and humiliated our local lad Ganguly", he added.

And most of the fans also sounded more than miffed for dropping Kolkata from the team name, for the fake IPL blogger saga and the "illogical team composition" and they feel this season of IPL 2009 is a nightmare for them.

By going through all this I feel the road does look lonely for SRK, for when it comes to cricket. He should also understand the sentiments of fan base as they are important stakeholder who gives him a major part of profit.

From here, it will be interesting to see how Brand SRK will fare or is it all over for him......

So here is my question....

Will Brand SRK Collapse ?

It would be great to hear from you guys !!!

SRK brand shall not be affacted. In a way, I hate this masala cricket n refuse to call it sports. However, talking objectively, SRK in his own arrogant attitude way, made some hard mistakes. It was n is simply business for him. He may not make money, but his brand will remain intact. IPL is not adding to SRK brand but SRK is adding to IPL brand. The person that cud possibly affacted the most out of sheer debacle is Dada. SRK may not participate in next time around....or look for some other business opprtunities. He is intelligent n surely will find out. Dada is being edgeout for sure...such a pity....

A product will fail in the long-run when it does not have intrinsic value to offer to customers. SRK is a great hero, not an actor. I think except for two films - which were 'director films' (Swadesh and Chak de)he has not able to show much in acting as his capability is very limited. He won't go too far.

Brand KKR will definitely effect Brand SRK simply because the badshah was so much the public face of KKR.

I mean dada or no dada, glam quotient to the ipl and team KKR was SRK and his antics.

And with KKR performing as badly as it has done up till now,SRK's  perception in a person's mind is definitely gonna be negative simply because nothing succeeds like success and nothing sucks more than failure.

Icons are icons because they are sucessfull no one likes a fumbling icon.......

Hope his stupid movies and useless antics become a thing of the past.........

Brand SRK and KKR venture promoted by SRK are two different things.

Talking about KKR, a cricket venture of SRK, it is already collapsed. But in it's collapse, it has narrated some lessons for other teams. It has presented as a classic example, as to how team management should not be handled.

I had got some hint of collapse, when SRK had insulted Sunil Gavaskar in very bad words. That was the beginning.

Singing "Chak de India" in movies & winning tournaments is one thing and doing the same thing in real world is another.

But brand SRK is totally different from KKR. Let us wish, brand SRK flourishes and become stronger & stronger day by day.

Thanks for the comment Makrand...

What my point was, the whole episode of IPL can bring negative vibes among his fan base (not only kolkata) as most of them are also interested in cricket. There is strong correlation. I must admit that SRK made some clever moves like buying the franchisee of Kolkata though he has stonger ties with Delhi ( his birthplace) and Mumbai (his workplace) bcoz he knew it well that if he could fill up Eden Gardens, & he would hit the jackpot. But this time around it backfired due to IPL in SA....

Atleast SRK & his moves this time around were ill timed than any other celebrity who is part of IPL like his intervention on Captain issue, his recent comments (sarcastic). He was always in the news for wrong reasons unlike other celebrities. For a brand like him all this counts & it would be very difficult for SRK to make people forget all this.......

Brand SRK in fact hold many point of differnetiation from other brands. Some of the competetors are ageing amitabh, Stylish sallu, Strong and rocking akshay etc. What do you still think when someone is like coke with his own persona and charm.

No, SRK's value will not be affected. Because SRK has more chances to prove himself and the people of India also want him more. He is popular in the whole of India unlike Ganguly who is popular only in Kolkata. This is a good lesson in humility for him as he should realise that he can't always win and there are better players than him too!

No,brand Shahrukh will not be affected because of all what is happening in the IPL and all the reactions of kolkata fans. But one thing is for sure that Shahrukh is not doing any good to himself by his presence at IPL matches instead of focussing on his work.Agreed it is his team & he should have a say in that but one thing he needs to understand that there are people who knows about cricket more than him and they are the people who should be involved in all cricketing decisions related to the team.He should just tell that what they are supposed to achieve and don't interfere in all other things because that is setting a bad image of him in front of general publiv...so he should focus on his work and let cricketers do their own work.

IPL is just one of his muses! I honestly do not see brand SRK depleting at all. If at all, even the neagtive can keep him in the media and knowing how savvy he is where media is concerned, he will turn this downslide into an ace for himself!

He is intelligent and witty and also arrogant. All the qualities that endear him to the mass and women folk! IPL is just a small speedbreaker that he will cruise over! SA is not the factor at all. If I know a bit about this industry because I have worked in it, SA adores SRK! He is extremely popular there as Karan johar has used SA and USA very extensively in all his shoots!

So SRK - UNAFFECTED!

Thanks Himanshu!

Brand SRK will remain UNAFFECTED!

KKR is limited to cricket fans and more to the fanatic fan following that Dada has in W Bengal! SRK is related to films and thats what he will do even if he sells KKR to any other interested business house! SRK will still do films and get his payments on his terms. His team performance will not affect SRK as an individual as I believe that SRK fan base (in relation to films) is far huge, global and equally fanatic in nature!

No he will not be affected as a brand!
