The cloud is accelerating the movement of technology into the business, with business-process-level expertise becoming more important than ever. The overall effects of cloud computing on IT jobs will likely resemble those of other trends such as outsourcing, automation, and utility computing. a gradual movement of the IT profession away from the nuts and bolts of technology toward the business end of the organization. In my opinion the IT jobs most at risk are those focused on configuring and maintaining infrastructure.

cloud computing will not eliminate tech jobs, for sure. i feel it will create more opportunities as technology advances in cloud computing and more techies will be in demand. i can draw an analogy from the control and automation domain space, with the advent of automation it was felt that manual jobs will get lost to automation however with automation came in increased productivity and that added to more and more jobs and growht prospects for techies as well as low end work force.

yes.. cloud computing does the tech jobs but most obviously there are possibility of virus affecting now a days though u have powerful anti virus and server failure these two are major hindrance for cloud computing. if any one of this happens the whole system shuts down... this is an disadvantage. if there is 90% advantage there must also be atleast 10% disadvantage we cant expect the full outcome whatever it may be..

Yes there are possibilities but it will take some time.

Ritesh you may be right but I thing the advancement in technology can make machines run by itself.

Cloud computing is being adopted by many organisations. With the help of this technology it becomes easier for companies to carry their business, with less of capital investment and less of technical complexities. Since it involves less of human resources and it is growing so rapidly it will eliminate IT professionals.

now a days the IT technologies and their own technique is going above the universe. its like a new world itself will be created in coming future. there is no end to put a full stop to these softwares development process. As i don deny that the business process level become more expertised in growing IT companies. They also seem to reasamble those of other trends in software development process. I think cloud computing is a best that can be installed in every nook and corner of the world (hubs)to eliminate too many servers and reduce cost and make efficient management

Dream the time when computer was invented. They (I don't know who they are) said computer will cut the manpower. But everyone now knows that actually it created new path of possibilities and jobs. Thats why we people are in this forum. Same will be the case with cloud computing. It will show us new opportunity of jobs.

no

it will not dilute the job of techies.reasons r many but prominent among them i feel r

  • cloud computng will reduce hardware junks ,reduce e -waste, and platform will be useful to only large usable software n not tailor made.
  • it will enhance a different direction of computing of more fastr and sofisticated computing and jobs will be more ditributed more larger platform is created hence less money but more jobs may be created.
  • matrix of computing will be so huge that a new world software will be created with more real world interface in the offing for everyone's use
  • next to the most influential to mankind after internet will b cloud computing.

Cloud computing will bring in new challenges, in terms new business requirements, IT security etc. The current IT job profiles will change based on the requirement, but in general it should generate more work as lot more people/Business would start using IT as it becomes more affordable.

Of Course, NO.

There are lot many things to be done at cloud computing level such as Data Security & Privacy. People need to think more to innovate something from this emerging technology. I remember that many people argued in 1990s that 'Computers and Softwares will make huge job loss'. But see what had happend? It creates enormous jobs across all the industry and also production rate goes high. So, It all depends on who keeps the ball.

We are to accept the emerging technology whether we like it or not. Once we accepted 'computer' saying good bye to paper or manual jobs. As experts ( sorry I am not ) are saying, Cloud may replace the old job and as expenses reduces, it may create more jobs elsewhere ( as it was observed in case of entry of computer and internet ). Myself waiting to learn from experts here specially IBM ppl who are in the fore front.
