yes and the best example is a small country called Israel and why too go that far if we take a look in the past , the best example.a major flushing out is required, rather we have to uproot this creeper of terrorism and for that the only tool available with us is army.we have seen in past that the bilateral dialogues don't work .so in order to restore peace in valley we need to take this step of employing army to flush out terrorists completely.still we have not lost.but if we keep waiting like this then it will be too late.......

Hello Kavitha, Nothing Wrong on calling the Army for the current situations. But political party should sit together and to sort out the problem they are facing by terrorist. Also government should give free hand to police to punish the culprit. They should not interfere in their work, so that they bring the situation under control. Kashmir Society and student in particular should c operate with government and work for their peaceful life. Hope all the problem will be sorted out. K Rajagopalan.

Army is the only apolitical entity in the country as on date.Whenever a trouble arises whether floods riots, terrotist attack people always look up to the Army as they have the trust of a common man.In Kashmir the Army had done its job by getting violence to a managable level, stopping infiltration, winning the hearts and minds of the people and finally helped in conduct of free and fair elections. The Army however cannot take the place of the political or beuraucratic vacuum that gets created when the Army leaves the place. It is entirely up to the politico and the administrative setup to reap the benefits created by the Army presence.A responsive administration and proactive political setup can hopefully solve a long drawn issue

though deploying army in kashmir is a bold step, it has become important in the present circumstances. the malice of politicians is a known fact, for their inherent interest, they are exploiting people's sentiments. in order to restore peace a state has to take tough step. most importantly, india needs to project its tougher image among international fraternity. For, it has been long due. We need no longer an image of a soft state! As long as people are concerned, their volatile anger can be managed with right political action.

Army has been called on a number of occasions in various parts of India to assist the local administration, police and para-military forces.Army has a limited role to play in particular circumstances and has not been deployed on a permanent basis. It is an open secret that it is a managed show of protest by select few miscreants aided by external elements in Kashmir. If they go out of control and become a threat to the security of the country then all steps should be taken to check it.First the trouble is created and later it is exploited by the vested interests. No compassion should be shown to such elements. The local population should assist the administration and isolate the trouble mongers. However,it is the responsibility of the government of the day to protect the innocent civilians. Peace be Upon HIM. Yes there was PEACE though for a few moments. But it shows that moving the Army in did help like a square peg for a square hole.IF I am a PEACEfull person by nature it does not matter to me if the ARMY is right there even in my study room; but if my intentions are not honorable i would object to even a police man in my neighbourhood. i have nothing to hide or be angry about, come rain or storm or AN ARMY; Lokah Samsta Sukhino Bhavantu; peace be to the ARMY too.

Sorry Kavita, I'm not yes man. But at present situation created by the ultras, under the disguise of separatist & opposition leaders, encouraging, instigating the people especially the youth for violence, may be it is just stone throwing incident but see how many innocent lives lost including the small babies, small children. Initially it stopped, when media highlighted the incident with live interview reports. Again it started more fierce & violent manner with the backing of the same people. See the opposition leader, irrespective of PM's intervention not ready for all party meet to solve the present crisis. He is PM for J&K also. Just because State Govt. failure it doesn't mean that u create such a tension & encourage the unscrupulous elements to take charge & push militants inside. It took everyone by surprise including the main culprits by the act of CM. Lets face it, Let us not mix up the issue here the army presence, which is not deterrent or thwart any peaceful process, but to bring back the normalcy & send a msg to the ultras & warn their supporters of the consequence for spoiling the peaceful atmosphere. It is a good decision by the J&K CM. Central Govt. should support the decision & send warning to the neighbouring country that we mean business & peaceful atmosphere will be maintained at J & K at any cost. Ofcourse, once the peace prevails the Army should be withdrawn promptly. Never under estimate the Army's contribution in providing the ground support for the peace process. Rao

Thanks for invitation! I fully agree with Kavitha army will not help to solve the kashmir problem and everyone knows we can't find the solutions by force it require patience and silence to discuss and get some agreement like WIN WIN SITUATION.

Army may not / should not be the solution. The Army Chief Genl V. K. Singh has said that some actions ( may be he was meaning Political dialogue/s ) are necessary after intervention by Army . He also suggested to enquire who are encouraging lawnessness and who are funding. It is funny that : quite often, whenever there is a (political) problem in Kashmir, some (main-land) intellectuals remember : MILITARY : dont know why.

By taking the help of army to bring peace and order will not work in Kashmir at all. Because it will add fuel to fire. They will think that the government wants to have a control on them and their freedom will vanish. To bring peace and order the government should try to bring peace and harmony among people by making them understood that what ever they are doing, they are doing for their good. In short the process of Gandhism has to be taken into consideration.
