Google is getting into the nerves of GPS manufacturers with their latest innovation. Recently, Google launched their GPS product as part of the Motorola Droid handset which is now being sold by Verizon Wireless. Currently, they have launched it in USA but are planning to globalise it very soon. For now the enhancement to the Android mobile operating system will include a full GPS navigation solution.

GPS

We all know where they’re heading, with Google Wave invitations starting to arrive from all parts of the world, but the ‘FREE’ factor they’re targeting is blowing up businesses. Here, they swallowing both competitive and capable spaces with each of their announcements for sure.

So, do you think Google GPS will will blow the other telecom manufacturers in the market?

Every single GPS device manufacturer will be disappointed with Google for this disruption. Google has already started to cover its markets in the entire world. Wherever Google products came, they showed fantastic performance. Even this GPS system is showing fair good response in USA, then why not in other parts of the world? This will definitely give a stiff competition to other telecom manufacturers alone.

I don't think so, Google is successful in internet doesn't mean it will be successful everywhere. It is the king in internet but still a kid in telecom world. GPS market is already occupied by big players like Nokia, Blackberry, Siemens etc. I think Google will have to struggle a lot to set up his own market.

Yes iam very much on the same lines with Ms. Smita Dalvi's argument as we all  know Nokia is the market leader in mobile manufacturing and it has taken almost 4 -5 years  to tap the market. and to sum up one more point into it that nokia mainly deals in  products that are affordable to indian consumer market whereas the google would take sometime to get to know about the behavior of the indian consumer .so it would not be so smoth sailing for the search engine gaint.
