No I don't think so, and we are not even in the position to compare ourselves with the FIFA world cup which is a way ahead.......

And the sports lovers are less in India compared to other countries. India people know only cricket and they love only that. So we can't expect the same crowd or the similar organizing strategy but will try to do our best :)

Why Not,

Fifa World cup had a very large fan following, and large crowd attraction

Whereas Common Wealth Games has a bit less crowd attraction but though its a mega event

India will live upto the mark of a better host nation for such events

I agree with Kavitha. other point is in India everything is politicised and politician fighting with each other make things impossible to reach the standard set by South Africa organized FIFA

Sir,

it's not the question of being pessimistic or optimistic . it's the question of accepting the facts. Govt. is not yet ready with less than 80 days to go. Stadiums are not yet prepared. Despite of having the advantage of home location our players are not able to practice because the stadiums are not yet ready. this is the serious matter of concern. And still the govt. is behaving as lazy as a "anaconda". And it's just not about the development of the sports facilities. Expectations were very high from those 80,000 crores which have failed badly. It means a lot when given to a city single handedly. It has been used just to polish the city and to hide our ""GAREEBI" from the guests. The condition of poor man is still the same or even worse.

Well, I think after spending whooping Rs 80,000 crores on the name of common wealth, we will not be able to organize common-wealth like or better then FIFA world cup. The Delhi govt. is still not yet finished with it's preparations with less than 3 months to go. The condition of Delhi is not like what was expected after spending thousands of crores. It is mostly being "POLISHED" by rehabilitation of poor people outside Delhi and many areas of Delhi are still out of development. Let one rain come and all the polish will wash away. Developing metro and making some roads is just not development. Poor people are yet poorer in Delhi and yet out of roof and with out food.
