will india become a superpower by 2015

First of all, I do not see a real need for India to become a super power. Just because India is kind of doing well economically does not mean it is on its way to a 'super power' status. Ask the following questions and then decide if India can become a super power:

a). Does India have a 'say' in todays world affairs. The answer is 'NO'. India does not even have a permanant UN Security council membership

b). Is India militarily strong - NO, we are not strong

c).Can India make its own arms and amunition - NO, we depend on foreign countries. You may say that we make this, we made that etc. All these were made by other nations in the 1940s and 1950s.

d).How good is  India's R and D. Poor,pathetic.

e).How many military bases has India got around the world - maybe one?

f).Has India overcome its own internal problems like poverty,caste,religion etc.The answer is NO

g).Does India have  good leaders who can lead internationally - NO, we do not have any

There are many more questions that you can ask like this - I hope India does not become 'super poor' by 2015

ya....i guess u all are right....there's lot more to do before thinkin of our nation as a superpower....but its only possible wid the cmin generation wid tat evergrowing spirit in the youngsters...coz we r the one's who r gonna make this country cm in the forefront within almost wat we cud possibly not even think of....

I don't think that India can become a Super Power or even a World Power by 2015. The reason is that Only that country which is dominantly advanced militarily, economically and more important has a strong political leadership can become a Super Power and I think 5 Years is too short a time to achive all these and especially political stability, vision and dominance over internal and external factors.

There are lot of other things to do before India become SUPERPOWER, We are on the right track to become one, the testimony of it is today's market which shown growth over 300 + upward swing, it is due to right budget and economy policy made by government.

But there are lots of things like development of rural India, education for all, health across category ....lot of other things which need to be attained before we become superpower. India will not become superpower only by getting arms and ammunition, but it should have controlling stake on world's economy.
