India is definitely surging ahead and there is all possibilities that India will become a superpower by 2020. But we will have to throw away corruption from this country only then it is possible.

India must tackle its internal problems. Maoist terror is growing day by day. If the people are not united, the nation will become weaker. Jihadi and Maoist terrors need to be checked. The Government needs to work for the welfare of the people. Distribution of wealth is a big issue in this country, as a small proportion of the population owns virtually everything. If we cannot have equitable development, there might be a civil war. So India cannot become a super power by 2020 at this rate.

I suppose so if we can ring in the Lokpal bill and reign in the corruption which is not only rampant but rather flagrant in nature and provide we succeed in bringing in the black money that is lying in the swiss bank.

See today's situation of Rupee & most important thing is slow growth of Country. We are taking so much time on basic things like infrastructure, education, Health, Internal Security. Corruption is the main big obstacle in growth. What we will do in just 8 Years? We don't have any magic candy. We have capacity to become a super power but our Government & Bureaucrats don't have vision to do so. Everyone is engaged in only personal growth by way of corruption & political interests. Very few are serious about country growth.

Financial superpower is more important than artillery and military super power. remember at the time of pokhran test, US imposed economic sanctions on India. On the other hand, we must think to fill the stomach of thousands of poor indians before becoming the superpower ,then only the meaning the meaning of super power can be justified.

Not sure about 2020.. The current generation of Indians are more confident and full of hopes compared to past... If this continues and we work smartly, I am sure by 2050 we should be the superpower.

India may become a superpower by 2020 in terms of artillery but definitely not in terms of finance and education. Regards, Anna George. Web Analyst. Nichepro Technologies. Bangalore. http://www.nichesuite.com

To reach a destination one must agree to a mode of transport, know/learn the way or simply face in that direction. Without even intent of trying any of above, no one can reach anywhere. Absence of Good Governance + Missing Infrastructure + Professional Progress deficit + Poor Industrial output can never find replacement through stock markets or commodity trading and wishful thinking.

to be acknowledged as a super power, india needs to assume a leading role commensurate to it growing stature in the global community. india has, or is on its way to acquiring the necessary economic & military muscle to back it. but are these enough ? the question is do we have, or will we have the internal cohesion & stability required for this dream to come true. do we have the political will to stategise our goals with clarity & synergise them with our multitude of resources for all round development. or will we stumble along the beaten track - traditionally reactive - letting events shape our future without attempting to shape our own destiny proactively.

By 2020, its impossible. Dont rely on the figures of the Govt. and the planning Commission. We need to travel a long distance. It is impossible for the country to become super power even by 2050. We are lagging behind on many counts. We are still borrowing technology and importing weapons for the security of the land from tiny countries like Israel. Govt. priorities need a sea-change to transform India.

I am little doubtful!!! Very first thing, what we mean by super power? Which areas we are going to consider? Economic, technology, poverty or everything? It's a fact that we are actually lagging much behind in almost every area because our own mistakes !!! Majority of the policies fron any party government are more politically influenced. Take a simple example of reservations based on cast and religion. We call ourselves a secular country but right from school admissions to getting a job, your cast and religion plays important role!!! Talent, capabilities, devotion, commiittment have no value in government sector, which is the backbone of the whole country as far as implementation of policies and government decisions are concerned. If you are giving importatnce to other things than a talent, you can not expect a quality work. Our main problem is, therefore, the government and its policies. Even time based promotions than performance, lack of appreciation, and most important the corruption!! They are killing us. Good performance by private sector will benifit only to that section, not to the country directly......

Why because, we need to examine our politicians that will they allow us to enter into 2020 ? Will they really lead us in a proper way to meet the challenges? if so How? because they are keen in sitting on the chair of power. The people who are leading this country should change their decision and should have enough boldness to face the consequences to make India 2020. People have to come up with their strong support & grow their business level then only it will be towards 2020. Do you feel that do we have good leaders for us to lead India 2020......... but I am not sure. All politicians do their work for their generation not for India. Hence do not think that we are becoming superpower 2020. No.... Sorry... please Regards Prabakar
