THE TWELFTH Men's Hockey World Cup will be held from February 28 to March 13 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. The mega event will be played in 30 matches, including final, among 12 countries divided in two pools. On the Opening day of the Hero Honda FIH World Cup 2010 on February 28th, two Asian arch-rivals India and Pakistan will meet each other.

The World Cup at home is, in many ways, its home stretch, and what the national team can achieve here depends entirely on what chief coach Jose Brasa has done in the camp until now. As a million eyes watch, and hopefully many more hearts beat, we will know soon if the game will turn a corner or not. The two weeks long Hockey World Cup is what the Hockey fans looking ahead. We all must take the pride to accept that HOCKEY is the national game of India.

If participating India must keep the spirits high and try the best to win.

The question is Will India win finds a simple answer that do we have any restriction to accomplish the same and has anyone stopped us from becoming the world cham or do we have any sort of limitations or shortcoming.

We will win and we have to win.

Till yesterday i used to think it is impossible, i saw all three matches i saw spain,australia and pakistan play but i saw more hunger,talent and zeal in indian team, they may or may not win the world cup but they will surely leave there impression on the tornament. hope this is the bigining of rebirth of hockey in India.

This World Cup will be a great challenge for the team to prove itself. Team's mental conditioning to weather difficult situations will be the order of the camp. The coach will use that to sharpen their edge and it is in the home ground that India has got a fair chance to win this World Cup this year. Indian has proven this and has got the potential do it.

Lets just not jump to conclusions here just because India drubbed pakistan in the opening tie, lately we have not seen how India plays hockey, as recently we all saw how they fought with the hockey federation for money during their preparation for this world cup, This is not the team which has players like Dhanraj pillay, Jude felix or Aashish ballal who could easilly win games  for you on their  own with their  brilliance on the field with a hockey stick, but lately India does not have that unity n the team and there are only few players who can match international counterparts, and other countries who virtually started hockey seeing Asian countries play are already become the masters of the game, the likes of Australia, Spain are real threat for India in this world cup.....
