Recently, Apple has announced that they are facing challenges in trying to play catch-up in the fast-moving smartphone market. When Microsoft first started talking about Windows Phone 7 earlier this year, one of the challenges it highlighted was the fact that it was comparing its phone, which wouldn't be out until the holidays, to where Apple was at as of last year.

I was sure that Apple wouldn't be standing still. Indeed, the iPhone is becoming an even fiercer competitor this summer, well before anyone will be able to buy a Windows Phone 7 device. Already, Microsoft's Windows 7 was giving a stiff competition to iphone with its multitasking ability since Multitasking was not possible in Windows 7. Therefore, Steve Jobs has introduced iPhone 4.0 which gives multitasking also as another option. In this regard, I would like to ask you all, will iPhone 4.0 derail Microsoft's phone plans?

I don't think so, Microsoft already has a huge market share. Even if we take it that they did it underhanded. They then are masters at that since they have so much market share. No matter how we twist it. I don't think Microsoft's phone plans can be derailed by iPhone 4.0

I tend to agree with you Sonal though the iphone 4.0 would surely cause a dent in the consumer base. Thanks for the referral :)
