Paperless billing is one of those things that is slower to take hold than it should, but it just seems inevitable that is how we all will be receiving our bills sooner or later. It will reduce the expense wasted on paper and it is eco friendly. (You save trees when you don't use paper..) Doxo is one of the first start up who will manage your bills online.

When I shop and receive my bill ,I always feel that how much paper do these people waste for printing bills for so many customers. Paperless billing is way to save that expense on paper and to save our nature , killing two birds with one stone. But will it work well in our country?? Will paperless billing be the future??

Of course it has to be. How long will we go on keeping records on paper and keep on wasting more and more of it!!

When we shop from a supermarket when if we buy just one packet milk everyday we get a long bill every-time!! Isn't it a waste of paper ?? Plus the record does not even remain because of the kind of ink used and the piece of paper becomes useless.

Paperless billing will be a better way to keep records and save nature.

I got my first computer qualification in 1972-73 since than a dream was shown to us that computer  will increase employment and reduce paper utilisation and planet will be more green. First one has already stand on its foot.

The second the green planet - paperless will be more green. With the growing twinkling lights (mobile bille, rail reservation, bank transaction, elctricity payment are few examples). Yes! it is the future.

I am optimistic.

it is a very robust step if taken by our govt. this promotes eco friendly concept and i agree wid this dis statement that all the bills should be paperless. it provides a sort of phenomenal job to vendors and also for common people in terms of technical growth. i fully agree that records in a data memory is far better than a crap ,also it provides flexibility to access them

Renjit is correct. It is already there. I am paying ALL my bills on-line. You can possibly encourage paperless billing by offereing a discount to people who pick-up billa on line. It costs around say 10/- to print the bill and 5/- to post the same. Paperless pickup will save the biller around 15/-. Now if a portion of this can be given to chaps who opt for paperless billing, then more people will be attracted to it. Ditto for online payment. BSNL is offering a 1% discount to people who choose to make online payments.

it is not the future, it is already existing right? Many people are paying their Mobile bills with the bill from email, electricity bills, online purchases etc. so the move is already on, just keep it going.
