Will shutting down WikiLeaks solve the problem?

Democratic countries are allegedly trying to shut down the whistleblower site WikiLeaks. But first, they have a legal tangle to solve. “Julian Assange is an Australian citizen. And he's based his servers in Sweden. Sweden supports freedom of speech and is not beholden to American law,”

Non-state hackers could, illegally, digitally attack the servers that contain the site's content. Or find weaknesses in the site's programming code. So, till now wikileaks has leaked almost 250,000 documents in this regard. And now Major countries like US, Canada and others want to shutdown such whistle blowing sites. So, what do you think people.....

I think Yes it will.Wikileaks has already created problems in short time.But yes...shutting down the website will avoid such problematic circumstances in future.Personal discussions should be kept personal.

No............by  closing  your eyes you can't  solve any problem..............and i think  wikileaks is  helping us to  get information  regarding  others countries.............by this ...we can  get true information who is  with us ................and now shuting down  wikileaks ....may  prevent  present problems  but harmful for the future time....................

I think the technology needs to be rehauled - in the current environment it is a loose cannon - International Informational Privacy Acts will need to embrace public transparency and sites like Wikileaks will reappear with a better directive. Until then, information should be better treated.

Wikileaks should be shut down as soon as possible. As all the documents are exposed . It would be a big problem to world as it would be leading into war's. So there should be a step taken by the authorities to shut down the website.

Anything hidden will surface one day! Whistleable blowers, of late, across the world are facing problems. Democratic countries should take this leaks in a positive stride to take corrective measures! Shutting down is not an answer - one day it will boomerang!

Why Wikileaks is to be closed ? For exposing the politicians. Than scrap CBI, Courts, Police, Vigilence.. Happily nobody can expose nobody..it is a win-win situation..Bad idea Amritha !

No, Wikileaks is not the problem...it is the malpractices of the Governments that's the problem. There have been many revolutions at the start of the past and before Centuries...there needs to be a Revolution in this century too that will straighten out some wrinkles in the society. Wikileaks is only helping the society evolve as a more open and ture society.

problem always erupts, but running away from the problems is not good, facing problem and fighting for the corruption free, injustice free world is the call for all of young people. It helps us to know the fact of real world which is hided by upper class people.

This is a sight which is showing the original attitude of the Countrys and individuals. So the sight must be continued. Problem is a continuous process if there is a problem then there is a solution and if there is solution then there will be a problem. So shutting down the wikileaks is not a solution people must think about their's attitude.

There's no point know to shut down the website as already too late. If it had to be shutdown then it should have been when it was exposed, now that it has been exposed to the whole world so if shut down now there's no meaning as all the data needed is saved. Its real a Disaster to the whole world.
