The Sony data breach that compromised the personal data of more than 100 million customers of the Japanese electronics conglomerate may claim yet another victim - the cloud computing industry.
Some businesses are rethinking plans to move to cloud-based computer systems located at remote data centers that can be accessed over the web.

So would this make people really rethink about cloud computing and will bring them back to old technologies?

We always knew the downside of cloud computing and this matter has hit the right place.. Probably many will think before using cloud computing..

Few gunmen ransacked CST Mumbai and Hotel Taj, on 26/11. Have they been shut down?

If the Central Bank is looted people will stop Banking?

What is Cloud Computing lets understand it from the creators of @Cloud Power.

People are so smart that they have counter active things for any problems. We think we learn from mistakes but we always try to learn from all the that happens good or bad.One outsmarts the other in the best way possible and hence let it be loud computing or otherwise.I totally agree with Mr Joydeep Dasgupta'comments.

We at Microsoft, always scope the case to set expectation.  Intel server platform was and is predominantly Microsoft  NOS.

Microsoft has come up with Hyper –V technology for Intel Xeon and AMD Optron Server class processor. Due to the availability of 64 bit processor the memory handling capacity has gone up, so we have the concept of Cloud Power, today. QDR In finiband, DDR3 has made it possible.

A dual hex Xeon Processor having clock speed of 3.0 Ghz per core is like having 36 .0 Ghz processing power!! So virtualization is possible on Microcomputer which requires a NOS, Windows 2008R2 Supports Hyper- V

I agree with Joydeep. Though, I'd like to mention that Microsoft is NOT the creator of Cloud Computing.

And I agree particularly with Mr. Raju, since the market has tasted the cost and service advantage, the number of adopters will continue to increase.

The solution to technical difficulties and issues is always possible as Mr. Raju says. Though, I fear that it would be a little easier to shutdown or put pressure on small operators via pressure on the cloud service provider.

Of course, I expect that there are a lot of brainy people who have already solved the above issue. And are still running their business.

Even our defence organisations sites are being hacked. Positive hacking to be encouraged to find the possible loopholes and take corrective actions from to time. As Mr. Joy and Mr. Raj said we cant go back to old technologies because there are some problems with the new technologies.

I support Joydeep on this count. There is always a risk in any venture, even your life is full of risk. It does not mean new technology should be abandoned.

Will it make the people rethink? Certainly yes. But will it make them go back to old technologies? Certainly not. This will make them reevaluate the safety and security aspects and strengthen them. Probably, they will introduce encryption techniques on their data, put routers which will be more difficult to break through.

There are some security issues with cloud computing but it can be handeled with a cautious maintenance. There is a dispute between cloud service vendors and users about the security issues. But benefit of cloud computing are more than any issues so it is going to be there and it is the future of computing.
