Have you ever read about: Free Newspapers cost the earth!!?

There are 2 million copies of newspapers distributed in Indian metro cities each day.. I want the people and publishers to be aware of environmental impact. The time is now to stop talking and start acting on issues that are affecting our environment!

I strongly support that Newspapers should be banned as there are much better advances in technology to go thru. And ideally it should.

PS: Start surfing ePapers..

i don't think any technology can kill Newspapers.it is very evident that all countrymen are not so conversant with e-media rather than that of print media.even today, i feel that i have the news only it is read and not SEEN/HEARD.honestly i admit that i don't know about this youth generation regarding their views on newspapers but, even today every morning i wait for newspaper very eagerly eventhough i have the news last night itself! charm in reading cannot be replaced by any technology.

Well, we already seen live news on Internet with users updating on major events regularly. This will surely kill newspaper.

I feel instead of the television or the newspaper, one day everyone would look to the Net for live news but yes in India Internet penetration still has a long way to go.

Technology will not kill the newspapers, people will, if they stop reading print media. Newspapers will have to evolve, create a niche, quality articles, news, and the rest. There are many people who like to read off paper and more will cultivate the habit from their peers. There always will be people who will enjoy reading newspapers, print run may be scaled down, but not out. There even may remain a select few who do, and the paper may cost $50 or more, but it'll be around.

I feel that technology facilitates the quicker and easier proliferation of information and news than ever before in the history of mankind. If you take the example of Google news, the news written in various news papers is brought before the reader in real time. This helps in providing more visibility to any news published throughout the world.
