The expulsion of two IPL teams — Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab — has come as a jolt to the advertising fraternity. While one of the sponsors of Kings XI is exploring legal options, others are putting up a brave face. But, what do you think people, will the teams ouster hit Brand IPL??

Oh yes, it will and infact a big dent will be  created, BCCI are not knowing the implications and are handling these things as if they are doing it for the first time, Brand IPL would definitely take a hit, with at least one of them saying that TV spot rates could come down.  Advertisers connected with both these teams will first certainly question the merit of continuing their association. The brand IPL which created ripples in the cricketing world for its popularity is taking a big hit at the moment, we do not want to see IPL become history with bad management happening from the BCCI...

Kiran I do not agree with your point of view. I am of the opinion that it will really  not matter. The memory of people are very short and though with the next IPL format it will be a problem but there after it will be smooth. Let wait and watch.

Most certainly as they are very strong teams in terms of advertising value due to the plethora of stars available. Plus in a country where cricket is next to god, u dont simply chuck out teams with so much at stake for some flimsy reasons. Its akin to what Ferrari is to Formula 1. Inspite of several allegations and subject of investigations, Ferrari still holds sway in F1 racing. All that they had to do was fork out hefty sums as fine which they would have earned in no time.

Similarly the BCCI should have the farsightedness to just fine these teams rather than throw them out on the basis of an independent audit report. But who says the BCCI has any far sightedness in the first place ??
