Over the last decade and half the mad rush to India for business opportunities has intensified and elevated room rates and occupancy levels in India. The Hotel Industry is inextricably linked to the tourism industry and the growth in the Indian tourism industry has fueled the growth of Indian hotel industry. During these financial crisis times with the inflation at an all time high do you think the Hotel Industry will thrive or will there be a significant impact on the Industry, so i guess this is a debatable topic, so what are your views on this.

Yes, i has  a very big impact on the current scenario.  Looking at the global crisis, people are more money conscious, companies have come out with various kinds of cost cutting, this has immense effect like the occpancy drops drastically, followed by mind set to think twice for their expense.

i would say a BIG NO.. the reason for my no is, as it is widely accepted that hotel industry is closely associated with tourism industry.. then let me put into notice that during recession the money value comes down and this is the BEST TIME FOR CUSTOMERS to travel and visit new places and explore newer means of lifestyles as it is more of a saving rather than spending... and if such situtaion is understood wisely then more people should effectively make use of such recession and so do the hotel industries in their business...

finally i would like to sum up by sayin that

COMPANIES PERFORM MUCH BETTER DURING RECESSION..!!!

yes there is going to be big impact as such there will be reduction in the tourism, which had the Hotel business thriving until now, so in this scenario it will be difficult for them to do business and thrive in this scenario.

Ofcourse there will be impact as such the same is happening for all other industries there will be job cuts even in this industry just to surive in this tough scenario for them, so yes there will be significant impact.

Yes there will be a significant impact on the hotel industry as such there is recession happening all around the world and there is not much of bussiness oppurtunities happening for another 1-2yrs in India due to the financial crisis so there will be significant reduction in the no. of hotel rooms booked and the tourism also will take back seat here and Inflation at all time high by this they have to increase their price and this keeps away the customers.

No there will be no big impact on the Hotel industry people who want luxury and quality service, they never compromise on the cost even in these situations, though there is financial meltdown, all over people value quality time that they spend at these places and visit again and again. So even in these situations Hotel industry will do brisk business.

I also agree to Nirmal, It will work in India. India is changing and so its people and their trends. Now when we are accepting all new trends then why not this. People would love to have a health treatment or stress free massage on a holiday.

I do agree with Sushil, more organised the management is, the service will be much better. They will be sure with what work is to be done by whom and hence processes would be carried out smoothly.
