This is just the beginning of emergence of "fifth pillar", i.e., Civil Society Organisations, which adds a "Watchdog Role" or "Ombudsman" role to the Indian Polity! This is a good beginning, need to go a long way! Representation should be fairly large, not limited to a select few!

We have enjoyed a lot the sacrifices of the last generation for Independence. Now time has come for us to sacrifice for a better future for next generation. If we will not do anything now, the future generation will not excuse us.

Anna Hazare has done a great job of belling the cat, but the initiative requires a serious commitment from all quarters, since corruption is a social evil and can be curbed if not eliminated

Certainly it will show new faces in Political & Civil team of the committee(for lighter side). When we welcome WHISTLE BLOWERS for Industry & Corporate bodies, we do not have any reservation in welcoming it for the Govt. But, will it do good to people is under thousand dollar questions. Because, the members are influenced by outside opinion (may go subjective). Also, absolute Independence for the committee decision is not welcome. We have to put it Supreme Court ratification. Lokpal can speed-up the process but their decision is to be quickly approved by OUR Supreme body. You see, there are today allegation on Bushans' Land deal(purchasing at lower stamp value). Another that need to think that, there are so many DONOR for the MOVEMENT , may be accruing to crore rupees. Are they all donoting for what purpose? Does it not have any impact on decision making?. We should ensure that it does not go as an another instrument to squeeze money from the public. Generally, we find this in all type of a Systems Improvements.

This bill may make no difference but we must remember that this is victory of democracy and we can fight corruption also only by this weapon of mass movement because .our legal system which is legacy of British rule is so long that influential people never gets punished ...

T.N. Seshan showed us how strong was the Chief Election Commissioner! Ultimately, the institution, now, shows helplessness and talk about Electoral Reforms, etc. Similarly, the institutions of CVC, CBI, etc. However strong bodies you make, the legislators have say in everything and will weaken the process, if the pressure is not kept on. Lokpal should not be viewed as extra-constitutional authority, which, how one guarantees, are not used as POTA to corner people for personal vendetta, thereby making this body weak by raising hue and cry! In today's circumstances, anything and everything is possible. Fading memory, vilification campaigns, people with vested interests forming coterie with people with good intention, etc. are some of the things one can expect in the bargain. First and foremost, we have to bring in Electoral Reforms, debarring people with criminal records entering politics. Anna ji should have done it before the five State Assembly elections. He missed the bus. At least, he should try and bring semblance in this general election, due in 2014.

"I believe our Indian Democracy has shown its naked face to the world India is moving up in list of world corruption index. The big scam and ignorance of UPA govt. has pulled out the trust of Indian people being in a democratic country."

The issue will be in focus by the media as long as it helps the circulation and viewership. Once the issue does not improve these things then media will not cover the issue at all. The reach of individuals is limited per se. To keep the issue in limelight for long some practical steps like forming an association of professional should be formed which should monitor the issue and related issues till they are taken to their logical end, otherwise the issue also goes out of the mind of the people over time.

It is true that law made for public but the benefit goes to others. The same thing will apply on this because no political parties stongly support this issue. So without revolution nothing is possible in India because we all lost our moral principles and ethics.
